Yea, having grown up between central Floodrida and South Texas, I'm used to huge thunderstorms, tornado's, hurricanes and wildfires, but have never been in an earthquake... And it probably won't happen till February at the earliest, but I've already been looking into it. If I have found inaccurate info, please tell me.

From what I have been able to find out, it is illigal to import (INTO Japan) a vehicle from after the 1976 model year. So that means my Jeep will be getting put into storage more than likely and I will probably sell my Supra... And promptly attempt to find a 2.5L Twin Turbo R... Or heaven help me, a Twin Turbo Limited, but I'm not getting my hopes up. And at the end of Chrissy's tour there, I would be able to import it if I wanted to.

Couple of my friends found out and were instantly telling me "Dude, you could get a Supra RZ or a Skyline!". They were shocked when I said I'd look for another mkIII... rofl

Ok....i think the Supra gods dont want me to get my car back together. I've been sitting and waiting to fix this car for over a year (life,college...yeah). So i finally have a little change left after paydays and have been working on getting it back together for the past 2 1/2 weeks. Soooo fast foward to today. I get up early so i can go ahead and mount the head to the block and torque it down. Put the studs in..hand tight....check. Gasket.....check. Place washers on head...check. Place head on block....check. Start threading the studs with the nuts......check....ummm not check. I get 11 of them on and the last nut.....DOESN'T HAVE THREADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This sucks.

Well thank goodness it's just a nut. I think they can be ordered seperately through http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/performanceparts/Toyota/Supra_MK3/Engine/Head_Studs .
Do all of the stud threads appear to be fine, not stripped? Did you use some kind of tap or thread chaser to clean out the bolt holes in the block so the stud can seat properly?
Did you clean the head surface very good? I started to clean it, but I didn't want to risk marring the surface so I stopped.

Oh, and did you get those thicker shims in and re-measured the clearances?

All threads on studs are ok. I call a bunch of performance shops to see if I could buy a nut and some had them but I had to but the whole set....i don't think so!! Thought about buying a thread kit...didn't want to risk it. So I called ARP.....sending me some nuts and studs for FREE. Also I did order more shims. Even ordered some 3.2mm if anyone needs a weird size shim.

Wow thats awesome. I love companies that take care of their customers. Great products and great customer service is hard to come by. Usually its one or the other...

What's really nice was that those studs were a batch from 2006 and they stood behind a bad nut from then. Usually you will here some stupid 'its out of warrenty' crap. I'm glad they did.

Sometime in the next three days I'm gonna try to paint my front bumper and side mirrors. I know it's going to be hot as hell the next couple of days but I've got to get it done.

Does anyone have an extra EGR valve with the piping? I'm almost done with putting my 7M back together but want to put the EGR back on due to it being deleted by the last owner.
