Rolling paint job

Yea, I finished with 2000 grit when wet sanding my car...it's almost a mirror finish.

And I am thinking about using this technique on my rear bumper...I will take pics if I decide to.

im giving this a try on my flat black daily driver... it cant look any worse than the rattle can job i did the first time around. if it works out and lasts, then im gonna give the Supra the same treatment.
its all about the prep work, the proper dry times between coats and wetsanding properly.

Wow, that looks good! So that was done using the roller technique? I really wanna see more pics! Is that pearl a pre-mixed color? Or do you buy white and then add the pearl yourself?

Since when are MKIII's considered "cheap toys for kids"? I have never heard anyone say that about MKIII's. And I don't see how it's "ghetto" if it looks and protects just as well as a conventional paint job...that's all that matters, right?

Maybe I should have said MKIII owners are cheap instead. If you've never heard that statement, you must not have been around higher end car owners before....

comes premixed. But for those who put this one, i warn you in advance, it is hard to take off.

whoa, that is pretty neat. I don't see why you couldn't use regular automotive paint so you can get a good color match. It's just another way of getting the paint onto the car... besides spray.

for some reason that remark makes me mad...so youre saying the owners who want to try this out for once are cheap? and that youd rather spend well above $50 to get the same job done, but with more expensive things, when you can make it look like you payed 5k for the job?

EDIT: you make yourself sound like youre so rich. so if youre so rich as to pay 5k+ for a paint job, why come in here and tell everyone here to just go get thier car painted for that much? what if they are on a budget and the outcome would look like the 5k paint job?

I have yet to see any good close up pictures of a car painted this method, let alone a in person, so I'm highly skeptical of the quality. Honestly, I'm not impressed with it by looking at the distant, low res shots in this thread. While one shot looks decent at best, almost all look painfully dull. Maybe I'm just a neysaying dick, but I want much, much, much more out of my car. To me, you can't beat cars like Steve N's, Kwnate's, Mattjk's & the likes. Their cars look finished, and that's the way I want my car to look.

The amount of money I have has nothing to do with this. I have a standard I want to reach, and it takes money to reach it. I'm willing to spend it, but that's my prerogative.

Sorry if I pissed you off, but I haven't changed my opinion, it looks ghetto....
