I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with your original goal, if there's something cheaper somewhere I definitely want to know why its more expensive and if its worth the price. I couldn't give a damn about who started what, I'm just saying things like this

are just slightly off topic in a thread about alarms ;)

And I just used your post cuz it was the closest, not to call you out personally.
I'm just saying I'd like to read about alarms and remote starts, not about sweatshirts and skinny little faggots. :3d_frown:

Thats all :)

Btw, it is hard to trust someone who is as new as Toyo is trying to sell products. I can't throw around money when the person is unknown to me.

.. and you :D

Ok , the arguement was getting a bit off topic but whatever. I still need to get the TT harnesses in from HKS. I can build and ship without these to any one that is willing to tap their ignition harness but I would rather hold off and ship when I have it as close to plug and play as possible.

As far as the engine stalling when you drop the clutch, thats different from having the starter motor rolling the car while in gear. I don't know if your familiar with the clutch start cancel switch on toyota trucks, but its design to let you crank the starter in gear to get over obstacles that would be to difficult to feather the clutch over. The point is that the starter has plenty of torque more so than the engine at idle.

My whole reason for not setting up the manual trans remote start is not that there aren't ways of doing it but rather that I cannot guarantee that whoever installs it is going to do it properly. And if something goes wrong I have left myself open to lawsuits. Why do you think that there are like hundreds of different remote starters out there but only two or three that advertise manual trans compatability. Its just the liabilaty

No, that's only on Toyota Trucks. There's a button on the left side of the gauge cluster that says 'Clutch Safety Bypass' (or something like that :)) that disables the clutch switch. I didn't know that was why, but we all learn something everyday.

As far as remote start in a 5 spd. All the other installers, including myself have remote start on our supras, and other cars. So far one supra went into a garage door, a truck high centered itself on a curb, and a WRX went up onto a door 'landing' and stopped about a foot from the door of the house.

Judge for yourself ;)

btw, on all those cases, the ebrake was on.

Ok, time for an update. Got the HKS turbo timer harness today. Damn they make this thing short. Anyway I harnessed up a full 3.5 clifford matrix Alarm/R.S./Keyless. Tomorrow I'm gonna plug it in to my car and test fit it and program it. I still have to loom it , it's fully taped up now. And I'm gonna label each wire end with it's purpose so its easy to figure out where each wire goes. then I just need to make up the intruction set and It'll be ready to ship. As for when I'll start taken orders (after I post final pics and stuff) it took over three weeks to get the TT harnesses so I'm ordering a dozen or so tomorrow but if you have one and want to send it to me I'll take $20 off the price and You'll still be able to plug it into your TT when it's done.

No he's right I'm familiar with the compustar system. The only way it theoretically start in gear is if someone reached in through an open window and forced it into gear. But once most customer's hear all that they have to inttialize it every shut down and that it cancels with every door opening they usually don't want to be bothered. Also the compustar is very expensive about 50% more at cost. I can get it But it is not for the novice installer. The install manual is like the size of a magazine and the program menus are the most complicated I've seen.

LOL, if you think Compustar is complicated, try installing a Viper (crap, btw).

What is gained over the stock alarm when installing one of these?

I understand the value of the remote entry, remote start, pager, and so on. But the basic alarm functionality, triggers, and so on... is it any different than stock?

All that and remember the stock sytem doesn't trigger until a door is opened . I don't need to be in the car to disarm the factory system. all it takes is a large flat screwdriver and about 5lbs of force.
