So, what is your status now? :) Since you are awake still. lol

All I've got to do on the dash is put it back in and that is done, I have one more strand of wires to pull from the 87 on the drivers side and put into the 88, then the rest of the interior can go back in(carpet, seats/front and rear, side panels, steering wheel, cd player).

Hopefully I get my MHG, ARPs, Timing Belt, and Blitz FATT turbo timer this weekend. And the head gets machined next week :biggrinki

Then I need a new turbo since the oil seals are f'd on this one, new clutch/flywheel/pressure plate, walbro 255, and the car will be done!

Okay, so I need help from someone who knows wiring fairly well.

The clock only turns on when the key is set to "ACC", and I cant figure out why.

Since I am using the w58 am I going to need to use the N/A clutch set-up(n/a flywheel/n/a clutch/ n/a pressure plate or n/a flywheel/turbo clutch/ n/a pressure plate) or will the whole turbo set-up work fine?

if you swap to an R154 you need to use its associated parts..

your stock clutch will not last more than a few days being boosted, upgrade now, while everything's out..

with a good clutch and pressure plate, etc, a w58 can hold up to 400hp or so, so it's not a bad little tranny at all..

I've stopped working on it for the moment due to money issues and the fact that I need my MHG and everything to finish the motor.

Haven't updated in a while so I guess I will now.

The head is being brought to Fortins in Chilliwack tomorow to be machined so the MHG has a good suface to sit against. The block should be getting done soon too as soon as I get the funds for it.

I was just told that my turbo timer is on it way, and my MHG should be here soo also.

Started working on some 'detail' parts on the motor. I smoothed down the valve covers so there is no bolts sticking out and the 3 raised stripes are gone, going to be painting them bright red to match the exterior and timing gears.

All of the wiring is done but I'm keeping the dash out till I get the car running.

Still looking for another stock CT26 or possibly a 57 trim CT26.

I am picking up a pressure plate and flywheel from a turbo motor from a friend in Chilliwack. Ordering just the clutch disc since its cheaper lol

Thats about all for now, sorry for the long post with no pictures but I'll get some after the head gets machined.

And if anyone needs an N/A motor for something or any parts off an 87 turbo let me know, I gotta get rid of the donor car soon cause its taking up too much room in the driveway.

If by chance you have some pics of this, please post them. I'd like to see them.

^ The studs in the valve cover actually unscrew.

Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks.

I wanted to see the stripes shaved down. Thinking about cleaning up my covers.

It would look cleaner with the studs out and holes showing, rather than them in. (IMO)

Got some pics of the valve covers :icon_bigg
This is how they looked after I took a sanding disc on a grinder to them. I sanded them down smooth after this was done.
