Pinks! (was?) looking for an MKIII

That show was outed a long time ago on the various civic boards. The contestants are required to sign an NDA so of course they will say it's real. But honda boys being the usual rocket surgeons they are, broke the NDA and spilled the beans. Of course they got nailed pretty bad for it, haha. The show is completely fake, almost none of the horsepower numbers are real, the races are staged, and no one loses their "pinks."

I suppose, but i do knwo the guys at Miller Race Cars who had the orange nova on the show that lost to the white camaro, and they didnt come back to CT with that car.....

I dont get speedvision anyways so ive never really seen the show, just s few minutes of it at a local bar when the turbo busa's were on.... (which just so happens they didnt race for pinks either...lol)

I always wondered why they didn't use the tree or the time tower to show 1/4 mile times... Now I know it was because it was all fake...

Well look at your source, every epsidoe I have watched, breing almost all of them has seemed pretty real, as well as some of the owners of lost cars have been on other news shows and interviewed, the people claiming its not real are either misinformed or lackl two vital organs to be on the show (BALLS). If they wanna prove whether its real or not, sign up, race and see if ya keep your car or not.

I've got an 87 N/A auto that I'll donate to the cause of putting a real import on pinks. As for the machine work, we can get the machine work for free if we provide the parts. I'm at Wyotech right now and we've just opened a new high performance area and they will do all of the machine work for free just for the experience. And chassis fab can put in a cage and what not.

im pretty sure you dont get to keep the cars. Reason being, a shop by the name of killer customs built a 69 camaro for the show. they went down to Pacific Raceways and they won. Last weekend they were out at the local track with their camaro, but there was no other car that they had won. IF, i won pinks, id be at the local track, with BOTH cars the next weekend.

I love this idea, and if i had enough support i really would be willing to go buy a 86.5 car, and start making it as light as i can. I havent read it yet, but if its a drag only car, should we be discussing an automatic transmission?? Keep the boost up between shifts?? Just a thought.

Okay, racing for pinks is an idea i've seen for a while now, but no way would i do it unless i was 90% sure that i could kick the other persons arse. Come back to me in £20,000 time and THEN i'll race for pinks (V5's here).

O.K., O.k. that joke is now getting old. Maybe Nate has his flywheel and clutch able to handle his undeniable horsepower now. I would love to see either one of them race someone else though. I don't want to see a beautiful supra lose, even if it is to another supra..............lol

if this ever gets anywhere pm me and ill donate 50 bucks IF i have it. if the supra community came together we all would have great ideas to make that car lighter and more fast ect.., another thing, id like to see that car look as stock as much as we could, but make it look like we "blinged" it up with some shiny parts that make people say "those damn ricers with there stupid turbos thinking there car can beat some real muscle" and then watch there mouth drop!

well, thats makes sense. Stupid customs. Give me shit about my ten dollar part, but dont worry about the guy wearing a turbin, with the rocket launchers and anthrax under the seat, let him go through

I have a shop that will put the car togethar from all donated and sent parts, also might have someone donate a huge garrett turbo if the parts and chasis actualy get sent here. might even get nero from Titan motorsports to donate a 2jz(not that we want a mk4 engine in a mk3). They have built some amazing cars and do excellent work. They do custom fabrication and design. They designed many of there own parts including the old Def-Con Downpipe and custom talon manifold even the talon manifold on Bill from Showdown Motorsports talon that runs 8.87sec 1/4 on a stock head. They have an in house experianced welder, mechanical engingeer and carbon fiber parts maker. They built Jamie Carters 1150rwhp mk4 supra. and are currently bulding 2 7 - 8 second 1/4 mile drag supras. The purposed idea is if the car wins both cars get sold and they take a cut, then everyone who donated parts get a percentage based on how many people donated, but if other ideas are out there post ideas.
