the title for this thread bugs the fuck out of me, it should be

pinks (was?) looking for A mkiii.

and why should it be that way? because if the next word in the sentence sounds like any of the vowels you add an "n" after the "a" because thats how its supposed to be. you wouldnt say that guy is a ametuer" youd say "that guy is AN ametuer.

Wow...this thread IS old...

NeoJester: I don't think there's much I can help with, since i'm like 1000 miles away, lol...

MKIII NOOb: I think he meant "M. K. III"...some people say "MARK 3", and some people say "M. K. III" (em kay three).

Depends on how you say "MKIII". I say "Emm Kay Three", whereas others say "Mark Three" If you say it like I do, then AN would be correct. If you (like I'm guessing the thread creator does) say "Mark Three", then A would be correct.

Depends on what you wanna send. cause anyone from anywere that wants to send stuff is greatly appericiated and if it we actualy put in an effort on this can get money. Cause if you think about it a car with the hype of being on pinks sells for quiet alot of money.

i'm bad, i'm nationwide
already said it was going to be sold, money divvied up amoing the donors

and as far as who drives it? left up to whoever puts in the most wrench time i guess, someone will pick out a ringer i suppose.

you didn't think it was going to be given up for visitation rights on weekends did ya?

anyway,i doubt it'll happen but hey if it does, i've already volunteered my spare car, it'll have to be up to people with more time/money to actually get it done i think...but someone needs to get in touch with producers before folks start sending parts/sponsorship money in

I disagree on the driver thing. I think whoever can make the fastest pass down the track in practice runs should drive. For all we know, the person who puts in the most wrench time could be me (won't be, but it's an example) and I've never driven on a track a day in my life. See where I'm getting at here?

find a ringer then...thats what i was getting at...if it goes, and if they use my shell, it's gonna be far, far away, and i'll likely never see it again, untill the show airs, anyway.

i can already see how this'll go though, some dude that donated his crusty used fiberglass seat will be cring because he didn't get to drive it, or he didn't get to be seen on the show, everyone who tossed in a couple of bolts will want to be the star>

anybody hear how the hogan/whatever his name was drift thing went?

the kid started playing games when corporate america wanted hogan, but not the "partner". hulk threw all kinds of money at the cars in parts and tools, and when sponsors wanted nick instead of the other dude, he started all kinds of shit because he had the titles in his name.

how you think it came to be nick was picked up by dodge?

and did he ever qualify?

1. a "contract/receipt" can be made for everyone that donates stating roughly that if the car wins both cars will be sold and they will get part of the money based on how many donators there are.
2. we have a driver and negotiator and they are quiet good at things like this. me, the shop guys, our driver and negotiator will be at the event. plus it will be posted were and when it is taking place so anyone in the community who wants to show up can.
3. we want to have an honest, organized, and devoted community effort. anyone wanting to come out to the shop will be more then welcome to.

The guys at the shop are Russ Maskey, Don Summerton and me Phil Coveney. The driver we had in mind was James Carter.

Get money donated to pick up either a beater (like most cars on the show) or to give money in place of a car and I would suggest someone drive their MKIII. If someone else wants to race their car on Pinks I will donate money either way. I saw a couple of episodes that the person gave money or gave another car up so they didn't have to lose the good ride ;)
