Ordered the black carpet. Now I gotta play the waiting game for the next week while it is made.

Anybody know where I can get some black floor mats with the oldschool Supra logo and not the cursive newer style?

A canvas/upholstery guy can custom make them if you show him pics if you can't find OEM mats

I was hoping to find some pre-made options. I've spoken with companies that were willing to make me a set as long as I could provide either the originals or a template. I have neither and don't feel like dealing with it. Plus, I'd have to pay a premium for this work since it would be a custom jobbie.

OEM mats don't come in black and the closest is the dark shadow gray color in the 92's I believe. I could have sworn I've seen aftermarket mats available. Even a groupbuy on here at one point.

Anybody have a black set they want to part with. I prefer them to be new tho.

e-mail anne@customfitautoaccessories.com, they still have MKIII carpets, and should be able to hook you up with what you want. I'm still rocking the ones I bought off of them, they are holding up quite well, imho. gl.

Sweet. I'll shoot them an email right now.

What are you using for the dye to convert ot black?

The stuff is called AutoMagic. It says it's a dye, but I'm pretty sure it's actually a paint. Looks to be good stuff. I'll know when the humidity dies down and I can try it out.

Started putting in the black carpet the other day. Not as easy as I thought it would be as the carpet did not come pre-formed, rather rolled up and shipped in a small box. I orginally thought I would have to cut down the width a bit, however, from the looks of it, it's barely wide enough as it is. The backing is also very stiff which makes it extremely difficult to position and form to the floor. I had to remove the ebrake and shifter to seat the carpet right and cut out the center where it meets the dash. I'm still not 100% sure of the best way to make cutouts for everything. I figure I'll just start installing everything and make slits where needed.

On with the pics (btw, that shiney thing on the passenger side is a box cutter and the white crap all over the driver side is bunch of felt that I never cleaned off yet)

Finally got started painting the interior panels. It took me freaking forever to reorganize my garage so I had room to work. I was walking around Lowes looking for inspiration on how to hang the parts. Viola! 1" PVC pipes for a couple bucks a peice and cheap screw hooks. Add some metal wire to hang the panels and I'm all set.

Here's where I'm at so far:

Panels prepped (all done by the little lady) with scotch Pad and Comet powder (notice they look faded)

p1361183_1.jpg

Rubbed panels down twice each with alcohol and a clean rag; then painted. Vinyl painted with AutoMagic Vinyl paint, plastic painted with Krylon Fusion (soley for cost savings). AutoMagic paint goes on very light and I needed like 10 coats. The nozzle is also very hard to push down and gave me finger cramps. I found myself constantly switching hands. However, the finish is excellent and looks factory. Krylon Fusion on the other comes out very fast and the nozzle is very easy (almost too easy) to push. Only needed maybe 3 coats to cover. However, finish is a little glossier than I like, but make a nice contrast between panels.

Just received the second set of mats. The first had the Supra emblem in the centers with backfill and I just didn't like them at all. Second set is awesome. Black, extra plush, offset emblem in silver with no backfill :naughty:

Just making an update. Weather finally got nice so I took advantage by painting more panels and sound deadening the trunk area and doors. I also decided to do the wiring of the VPC, SAFC2 and Zeitronix as well as pull them wires in for the WB o2 and EVC. I pulled wires for the stereo and finished up the carpet too. All and all, I'm quite pleased with the results.

On with the pics!

0 guage power wire run from battery out through fender by master cyling and into firewall.

Oh yeah, and a pic of the gorgeous helper. *We had drinks after a long day of work:naughty:*

I had to pull the trigger and propose to her. We are officially married; going 3 weeks now. The diamond solitare I found in the Supra wasn't going to cut it for this girl, so I had to dig deep and dish out for this sucker.

1.02ct, E color, VS1 clarity, 1.34 ratio, EX polish & VG Symmetry; GIA graded, certified and laser etched on the girdle. I know my diamonds:icon_bigg

However, I could have finished this Supra off for good if I applied those funds differently  But hey, it was worth it to see the smile on her face.
