Rear timing cover the one that goes on the front of the block and is part of the Head Gasket sealing surface.

If it's higher then the block HG won't seal.

There's a rivet in the HG that holds the head off the block slightly and again the head won't seal.

Should have sold the 45 and bought one that fits.

yes that did get machined also. do you think ill be safe if i get the head gasket off again, get that rivet out. or am i going to have to get it resurfaced once again.

Should be fine, at worst you'll have to strip the Viton off the gasket and coat it with Copper spray when you reassemble.

I started a thread on this awhile back there's a bunch of info in it.

well thank you for telling me this now after i got it all put together lol. but like i said i got tons of time to do work on it, so im not worried about it, ill just make sure i write that down to remove that rivet. i mean the motor has to come out again anyways, its not even bolted in its just sitting on the mounts, i got some soilds from BIC i needed to get on there :evil2: and ill look around for another turbo, now is there any other medium sized turbo's that have 4inch inlets and 3inch outlets and v-band, i would like to just stick with the pipe size i have and not have to go out and rebuy all that crap.

NO ONE trusts Honda guys ;)

no :( things like a certain DUI made me loose my license and now im living out in mount vernon 30 minutes away from my supra, so i get to work on it every weekend now instead of every day so now im just going to save and invest into the GT35R, RC 780cc injectors and the Areomotive N1 external pump

well i thought i would pop on in and give everyone an update on the supra's life, so in record time we pullled the motor out got the head and pistons all out, it is a fact that the front timing cover was not machined, so that will be getting done this monday or tuesday. the head gasket had the rivets on there, i have drilled only the 2 corner ones that did in fact get in the way of the head. it looks like only 1 of them really goes under the head while the other one couldnt really tell so i drilled it anyways just in case. the coating on the HG was still on there but im going to copper spray it anyways. going to relube everything while its apart, get the block hot tanked again. and while it was out i also put my solid motor mounts on, meanwhile my friend is making a solid tranny mount for me and short shifter. im going to deal with the fuel system and oil after the motor has broken in partially, i want to know that i dont have any other problems that i will have to spend more money on. but as for updated pictures here you go :icon_bigg
