well pipes are going to be wrapped, but i had tried 3 different ways and all are near impossible, that has been the only way i found to fit it, that turbo is just so damn huge. so turbo will get a blanket and the upper pipe will have wrap. i mean im trying my best to keep it simple but nice but at the same time fit.

Trevor,
Here's an example of what TRD chose to do when confronted with reheating, already cooled charge air: http://www.turbosupras.com/images/Group%20A/Group%20A%20Engine%20Bay%206.jpg
Of course, there is the option of a FFIM, which I've thought of doing myself. In the meantime, I'm planning to take my charge pipe and have it ceramic coated w/a thermal barrier for $85, at FinishLine Coatings, in Milwaukie OR.
I already had both the turbine housing and exhaust manifold coated in a 2000 degree thermal barrier, as well as the down pipe and turbo elbow.

exactly what i was planning on doing, again that turbo is the major pain. the last guy i spoke with that has that same turbo says he spent almost 6000$ just to make the thing fit right, im not doing that, i've already spent almost 7000$ into the motor and interior and already out of money.

well if i could get away with this, and in a magical land of no heat produced by turbo world, i think it looks sexy :naughty: but im still going to attempt to leave it like that, just welded together and heat blanket for the turbo and some DEI intake wrap for the IC pipe, and then i already have header wrap for the new DP

Trevor: Just had a read through the thread

Couple of things I want to ask..

Was the Timing cover surfaced with the Block?

Did you remove the rivet at the front of the HKS?

You mention spooling it by 1000 rpm?
(this was a joke wasn't it?)

Why the gt45 for 500rwhp?

how bad that would suck to forget to machine timing cover with the block and/or remove rivet on the HKS MHG after he got it all together.

Yea man, there is no way your boost prediction is remotely accurate.:icon_conf

If 500-600 is the ultimate goal a 61 trim would be ideal.

I would've suggested the GT35R....as well as a FFIM if your not going with a stock intercooler design.

The GT45 and 550cc injectors are not a match made in heaven. You either need a smaller turbo 61mm-63mm on 550's or larger injectors like 720's or higher with a turbo that large. Nice looking build though.

the lower timing cover?
the why would you want to remove the rivet on the HG?
and yes the spooling at 1000 was a joke, i mean the ct 26 didnt get full till 2500.
and the reason why i chose the gt45 is because i got it for 400$ and it came with the external wastegate. now starting to regret it.
as for injectors, yes i know i fucked up bad on that. but im getting the rc 750cc or maby 1000cc and a areomotive A1 external fuel pump

Rear timing cover the one that goes on the front of the block and is part of the Head Gasket sealing surface.

If it's higher then the block HG won't seal.

There's a rivet in the HG that holds the head off the block slightly and again the head won't seal.

Should have sold the 45 and bought one that fits.
