SO your staying with the stock rods and valves. and you want to run 500hp. Let me know if its still up and running . Would make me feel great about what i am about to do to my 7mgte. I plan on putting eagle rods ARP bolt kit, king rod bearings, and washers. just for the lower half. i bought engine with rebuilt valves and cams . etc.. Your engine looks great .
please sir, if you don't plan on rod knock do NOT go with King bearings... My 2jz has to be rebuilt for the 9th time in 10 years.. ACL or Clevite

I was able to get my injectors/coils/standalone wired to a relay and fuse today. Tested it and everything turned on. Woo went to test the injectors and coils and they caused my boost controller to turn on and off on every pulse. Boooo. Could this be ground interferance or just because my battery had 10 v?

was able to solve the issue to the odd ground interference, and the reason why my circuits would go weird when testing my ignition system was due to not having a engine ground "spark plugs ground to the engine" but i got spark now, but am having issues with the injectors, going to try to adjust the settings a little more, my peak and hold settings are probably to low. hopefully that fixes them otherwise i have burned out my new injectors :( also i think my turbo timer is now fried to because of the shortage grrr. I wonder if the stand alone has a feature for that :p

got the injectors working, they got stuck, found out also that my v44 will only support 1 low impedance or 2 high impedance injectors, i got the injectors before i got the stand alone :( so guess im looking to trade my injectors for some high impedance ones. or my only other option is wire in resistors and set it to saturated

I didnt wire mine myself and have limited knowledge on it but my link g4 (storm) same model as yours I belive has only 4 injector drives and I have low impedance injectors

the first place that wired it ran 3 resistors thinking it would batch fire in pairs were as it was actually fire 4 injectors then 2

the second shop I took my car too (actually work with the people that make our ecu's infact they now operate out of the same building) said they were wired wrong and it was a common mistake
mine was then re wired buy them to run in 2 batches of 3 also had to change the resistors to a differnt type

I dont know if this remotely helps or I just spilled diahorea into your thead but Im trying to be usefull :)

you know im running a vi-pec v44 no a link right?

also i dont understand how or why you'd wire 2 batches of 3. you have 4 active drivers to fire off in a pair, there are 3 pairs in our case.. 1-4, 2-6, and 3-5 so each driver would be
injector driver 1 "injector pair 1-4"
injector driver 2 "injector pair 2-6"
injector driver 3 "injector pair 3-5"
injector driver 4 " not used "

and it sounds like in my case ill have to wire in a resistor box for the 3 pairs of injectors, then run the stand alone in saturated mode instead of peak and hold.

there seems to be some misinformed info going around at the minute abot these two ecus..
and perhaps tuners are playing the "one is better than the other" card as one is more expensive.

for the concern of the "plugin" series of ecu for GTS/GTR the two makes are the same board. there is no difference.. Vipec buy the ecu from LINK and rebrand.. the software, hardware and pcb are all identical..

now.. searching the dealers prices it seems the Vipec unit is more expensive..
why is this??

currently the LinkG4 plugin ecu for GTS/GTR is retail priced from THOR @ £838 plus VAT..

go compare that to what the other tuners are selling the Vipec at..

obviously if you buy LinkG4 from myself i can offer a further saving on the RRP..

i think perhaps a group buy is order... who fancies that??

was under the impression they were pretty much the same thing ??? just one random quote i pulled of a skyline site there are quite a few more threads saying the same thing main differece I see is I think you have a larger internal map sensor

i have a 4 bar built in :)

---------- Post added at 06:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 PM ----------

Two 2Ω fuel injectors are wired to an injection channel each with a 4.7Ω ballast resistor, the battery voltage is 12V.

What is the effective impedance of each fuel injector?
Effective Injector Impedance = Injector Impedance + Ballast Resistance
= 2Ω + 4.7Ω
= 6.7Ω

How much current will each injector draw?
Max Injection Current = Battery Voltage / Effective Injector Impedance

= 12V / 6.7Ω
= 1.79 A

How much current will flow into the injection channel (drive current)?

Drive Current = Injector 1 Current + Injector 2 Current + Injector 3 Current + …

= 1.79 + 1.79
= 3.58A

Based on this I need a 4.7 ohm 50w resistor each pair of injectors.

All I know is it was wired with these three resistors and it did run ect

The people that made the ecu software said it's ment to have one resistor per three injectors instead no photos of those cause I'd have to pull my glove box apart :s

Edit: but even though the Internet says there are the same once or twice there has been cases of misinformation on it so there could obviously be software differences

had alot of odd issues today, ECT reading 100c even when the sensor is disconnected, the ls2 coils firing causing either gauges to flicker or the EVC to turn on and off. good news is that the spark plugs all worked lol. I loomed the engine harness, installed the switch for the new fuse box that i installed that does all the aftermarket gear in the car.

my output wire 0-5V is outputting 7.7-7.8 volts, i've tried to change the little knob on the back so it would so an emulation of 0-1V to see if that would fix it, but it did nothing at all. I've tried to ground it at the battery, and frame and still it reads incorrectly. The actual gauge display is correct tough reading --- with sensor connected and reading 14.8 with it disconnected.

so what could cause such an odd issue. I've also used a gas soaked rag to get the gauge to do a full cycle "richest to leanest" to see if that would do anything, but the voltage output still stayed the same no matter the mode or display.

so whats going on ?? if i dont get anything here ill be blowing up AEMS tech lines monday

the intercooler pipe was just placed in, was doing some aligning of the intercooler, got the fuel pump wired up to the stand alone and it worked great. Now i just gotta figure out these other little problems with the AFR gauge output and ECT issue
