and because i know its gonna be a asked question, the big holes in the bumper and core support will be made up similar to this

p1706231_1.jpg

i know structual integrity wont be nearly as great as it was when it was originally stock, and it was a stupid idea on my part but the only other thing that would make me go back is a god father bumper :) anyways im looking at getting a full 10 point cage

it seems too low IMO dont want the fuel pump scratching in a road bump :(
yeah i'm not sure. like i said i only got a little more wiggle room but not much before it starts to go higher than the sump. also want to make a note the car itself is up on jacks in the front half of it, so thats why every thing is angled funny :p

"Mount pump level or lower and as close to the bottom of the tank as possible." thats what it says for its instructions. I have the pump set for a 3 second prime, before it would suck air and it spit fuel like when you turn your garden hose on for the first time lol. thats why i had to lower it

Only going to make any difference when the tank is almost empty.....

Rest of the time the fuel will be above the pumps inlet even if the pump is mounted flush with the bottom of the tank, where it is now is fucking stupid and a disaster waiting to happen..

Personally I'd mount in in tank but that's just me.

I mean I could just flip it upside down. Remember I'm planning on daily driving this thing. So there may be a point where I go below 1/2 a tank. But I know that 1/2 tank is my new empty

Just saying odd moment there isn't any gas stations for a long time

Almost empty means just that, 5 maybe 10L left and even then once the pump is "wet" it's going to pump fine, it's just common sense that you don't thrash an engine hard when it's that low on fuel as even a small gulp of air might mean it'll lean out enough to grenade.

I've just replaced the pump in my DD as whenever I ran it low it'd stumble and hesitate as the pump overheated and dropped pressure, you could see this happening in closed loop cruising on the instant fuel used readout in the dash, the ECU would hammer the Injectors trying to get enough fuel into the engine.

I was thing of using one of the analog outputs as a fuel pump voltage controller to help lower the chance of over heating. Do you think its worth setting up the stand alone to register fuel level?

You could use the Low fuel level light as the input it's fairly stable, the Sender is useless as it bobs around all over the place.

Had mine set up so xx fuel left would limit boost and pull on the limiter so there was no way I could push it hard when low.

Is there any better sending units that would be more ...accurate? When does the low fuel light turn on. I've never seen this light before lol

Mine used to come on when there was 50 Km's left it's a seperate sender on the tank bracket.

It's really hard to get an "accurate" sender due to fuel slosh, I used to let the MoTeC count how many injector pulses then calculate fuel used based on that, it was +- .5L so pretty damn accurate over a 115L tankfull.

I might have to actually use the light as the input because I don't think I have anymore analog inputs available. But I know I have like 6 digital inputs still. Idk if my vi-pec has the option to count pulses I'd have to look

Any idea how many liters or gallons is left when the low fuel level kicks on? Can't recall but was it adjustable or do you just adjust the float to make it look like your running out of fuel sooner. Make the gauge tell a little white lie
