Hmmm.... Looks like I forgot to update my own thread. My bad. Work and other aspects of life have been keeping me very busy...
Anyways, I pulled everything back apart to get the EGT bung properly welded in and everything has been perfect since. The new setup is responsive at low rpms yet still hits as hard as the TO4R did when jumping into the throttle at higher speeds. I've only had the boost to 12psi so far without hitting fuel cut, but I couldn't be happier. Once it's tuned and I can up the boost I can only imagine what it will be like.
I finally got this boat lowered with some ST springs that I picked up for a great price from a member. (Thanks GrimJack!) Coupled with my very healthy TEMS struts and good tires, the handling is incredible. This is the first MKIII I have driven with such fresh suspension components thanks to the lower mileage. It makes a huge difference over my previous, more weathered Supras. I thought that I wouldn't want to keep the stock shocks, but again with lower mileage units, the feel is amazing, very solid with no extra bounce or give.
The car is currently back under the knife getting a few things done that I have been neglecting since getting it on the road with the swap. I feel like I'm finally finishing the swap. It's also getting the A/C reinstalled. I love having a parts car.
Between the performance of the engine/turbo setup, the perfect blend of comfort and performance in the suspension, the natural luxury sportscar feel of the interior, and the return of creature comforts like A/C, this car is well on its way to being the track ready, traffic friendly, canyon carving, highway beast that I want it to be.
Next on the list: enough tire that I can use the power I'm making even at this point, some means of tuning (I haven't decided what I'm using yet. Suggestions?), ST swaybars and poly bushings, an Autopower "race roll bar", and last but not least, a good paint job so I can feel comfortable taking the car out in public.
More updates to come...
