How much did the machine shop charge to hot tank the block?

the charge for the hot tanking I believe was like $45. But that was the block, pistons, rods, mains, and crank. But wasn't a real hot tanking with acid, everything was put into a really big washer machine (like for you cloths), and wash for like 35 mins, with detergent and water.

very nice build. What power are you looking to make after this build is done?

BTW where did you get your OEM Timing belt from?

After getting upgraded turbo, injectors, and MAF. I'm thinking ill make some where near 300. After a good tune. Im hoping for more.

OK today I got the last few parts ill be ending, all I need now is my oil drive-shaft bearing. After I get that ill start on the reassembly of the motor. In hte mail today I got my head gasket (HKS 1.2mm bead type), bearing kit (re-boxed NDC rod, and main bearings, and thrust washers, in in standard sizes) also got a tap for the head studs to be tapped, and a new set of trunk stoppers cause mine are a little worn out. Here are some pictures to hold you guys over.

100 for a real hot tank is not expensive. A lot of shops charge cheap and just wash with the parts washer. If they really hot tank a block, they will need to change the freeze plugs.

You should not be using a tap, you need a chaser to clean the threads. They are two different things.

OK check on that, will be purchasing a chase, and not ever using the "tap lol

Correct, I didn't have it "hot -tanked" with real acids. I did have it just cleaned in a big washer basically, but to cover my bases, I did have them go ahead and change the freeze plugs.

The top side of the ring should have a mark on it.

Look at the back of the NPR box and make sure you install the oil rings properly. The chain link ring should go in first, then the bottom ring and the top one after. When I say bottom ring and top ring, I am still talking about the oil groove, but just the two rings that sit on each side of the chain link ring that is in the middle.

Actually if you are using arp studs you need the tap so you can get to the bottom of the holes. 7m's dont have threads to the bottom and the studs will preform better if the holes are taped and cleaned all the way to the bottom.
