O.K. here is a picture of how the car sits at this moment. I've got the head at the machine shop getting a rebuild, but using the stock parts. I couldn't find any upgraded parts for it yet. Jose is making an upgraded 1jz kit. It'll have the springs, valves, and retainers in it.

Here is one for Ryan of where I drilled the hole for my wiring harness.

I've got hot pockets in the oven and when I get through eating, me and my trusty sidekick Ricky are going to start pulling the block. It's colder than a well diggers ass over here, but it's got to be done. Let me say, that it isn't Fargo cold, but it's still freaking cold to a southern man.

Wish me luck...no broken bolts, stripped bolts, busted knuckles, cut hoses, we've already broke two wires off of a sensor on the head...........:3d_frown:

We got just about everything out that can come out. We still need to undo the motormounts and tranny mounts, but we don't have a cherry picker. Ricky's brother broke their's earlier today. I've got a trip planned to Harbor freight in the morning, and I think I'm going to go ahead and buy me a welder for two hundred dollars so I can do my own exhaust and maybe even work on my intercooler pipes. It is suppose to weld mild steel, stainless and aluminum. It's a mig welder, but now I have to get 220 volts out to the dungeon somehow. Just one more thing to add to the list of things to do. I really appreciate all of the well wishes and good luck, and Joe is even willing to cross his nuts..........:biglaugh:

Ok so im pretty sure i know the answer but im gonna make an ass of myself any ways the 1.5jz is a 3.0 liter corect? And whats the huge benifit why not just go 2jz?

Like was said above, the main benefit is being able to re-use your 1JZ manifold and such. For example, I have a really nice HKS SS 1JZ manifold, and a custom exhaust to fit with my manifold and wastegate, it would cost thousands to replace those.

Another lesser known benefit is head flow. The 1JZ has smaller intake valves and runners compared to a 2JZ, which keeps port velocity up in the lower RPM, promoting better mixing, giving you slightly better low-end power. Once you get higher in the RPM range, you have a turbo to blow air through the restriction they cause. The 1JZ exhaust valves are actually larger than a 2JZ. With a set of cams to increase lift, you can push a lot of air OUT of the motor into the turbo, which should give you slightly better spool characteristics.

Why are you guys welding the pipe from the water neck to the pump? If you're using a 2JZ water neck, just get a 2JZ connection pipe too, and you're all set.

because it still isnt long enough to reach the 1jz head.

O.K. here are some pictures of the car as she sits right now, but I must warn you it isn't pretty at all. In fact it's kinda scarey to think of all the work ahead of me, but I'm remaining positive that I can get it all done before the beginning of March, That will still give me plenty of time to get it broke in and tuned. On with the pics.

Here is a picture of how the block sat this morning.

Here's how the engine bay looks as of this afternoon.

Here's the block and tranny being held by my new cherry picker.

Here are a few of the inside of the car. This isn't as scary to me as it was the first time around.....:aigo:

That's all the pictures I took today. I was hoping to get the dash back in tonight, but for some reason the dam'd thing keeps spotting and won't paint correctly. I'm going to sand it all down again tomorrow and start over. Hopefully I'll get it looking good and can get it installed. I'll sleep a lot better once the wiring is all hooked back up.
