hey, I never knew it wouldn't fit until my first oil change. I had to crush the oil filter to get it off, and install a relocation kit.

aristo's oil filter housing is the best there is.. straight off the block making it easy to get on and off.. WAY better then the 1jz.. Not sure on hte mkivs though

O.K., I got a little work done on the car today. The Targa top is toast. It looks like shit. I'll have to respray it one day this week, and I'm going to have to thin the paint a little. It's too dark. I'm going to use the older gun since it seems to be spraying better.
Here's what I got done tonight.

I also got my plug wired up for my welder and I played it with it for a minute or two. I'm going to buy some gas before I weld any of my flanges though. For some reason it wouldn't feed the .035 wire through there, which really sucks because that's the wire I wanted to use. I'm going to have to buy some smaller welding wire now.

I've got to order a 2jz waterneck bypass tube, new serpentine belt, and I have to check on the status of my ACT extreme pressure plate. I should have this thing running this weekend if I can get all of my parts in. Who's the man?...............:biglaugh:

Great work Jay! You surely must have been planning this long before we were all aware. Seriously, do you realize how many years it would take some of us to do what you have done in 2 weeks?

Um, I was told Dave was the man but that was like yesterday so it could have changed by now!!:icon_razz

Nice progress!! I am hoping it is a runner by the weekend as well.

It wouldn't take you that long if you really wanted to go to the Texas meet. I played golf today and did all of that from 5:00 to 9:00 and that included running 100 feet of 10-2 wire from my house, up on top of my garage and down to a plug for the welder. If I had all of my parts, I would get the motor installed tomorrow. I really want to get the pressure plate here so I can install the transmission with it out of the car. I'll find out from Aaron tomorrow what time it will arrive. I'm hoping Jeff has the bypass tube I need in stock also. I can't install the intake until I put the motor in the car, because of the wiring harness. Thanks guys.

Pat, I'm going to order the 2jz belt so I'm hoping that it works.

Videos? You know I don't make no stinkin videos..............:biglaugh:

I doubt I get it running Noah, because I'm waiting on my waterneck housing and bypass tube, but I did get the intake manifold and all of the injectors and wiring harness hooked up today. I have the engine installed already of course. I didn't get to hook the tranny up to it because I don't have the pp, but it won't be that big a deal to install it with the engine in the car. I also have my new master clutch cylinder installed already.

I ain't playin.............:biglaugh:

This thread is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! You let us in on the fact you had made the decision to go 1.5JZ right at 22 days ago, and you started ordering parts. 11 days ago you pulled your motor, and now you are telling us the new motor is in already. WOW! Just F'n WOW!

Dave are you sure you are not going to the Texas meet? I think you could benefit from a few more days of hanging with Jay. Hell, we all could.
