I'm getting 200 miles to the tank on 87 octane from Shell. with 10% Ethanol. A/C was not used during this tank and revs never passed 4k.

How big is our fuel tank exactly? And what is your average MPG.

For some reason, I feel like I should be getting better MPG.

Post your milage, mods, engine oil and what fuel grade you use.

Your mileage sucks. I get 300+ to a tank and my car is modified. Part of your problem is your ridiculously thick oil. Why are you running 20w50? Are you using new plugs?

Edit: I just saw the new NGK spark plugs.

Mileage: 23MPG average
Mods: Numerous
Oil: Pennzoil Platinum 10w30
Fuel: Shell V-Power

Yes, they are new plugs with 3k miles on them, I pulled them out the other day and they look perfect.

Reason for the oil is becasue the previous owner (original) has been using that oil since it hit 100k and I'm scared to use a different viscosity now. I've had the car since December 07.

It has a very slight rear-main seal leak which I plan on fixing when I replace the clutch for my NA-T conversion.

that oil is for like old ford pinto engines etc.

im uk basd and i get about 80 miles to £20 petrol. its priced at £1.15p per liter. if you can work it out as im tired just now so off to bed. then youll have how many liters to 80 miles (uk liters tho) then how many liters the tank holds etc etc

my car isnt the healthyest though so probably could do more mpg

edit: i just remembered. the pinto engine was found in ford cortinas, sierras and transits etc. dont think its related to the old ford pinto cars u guys got over there.

You know, if you're planning on going NA-T you really should freshen the motor up first. Have you done a compression check?

I've been meaning to for the longest. I've been too lazy.

The car feels good. Pulls nice for a N/A (past 4k lol). And doesn't misfire.

I used to easily get 360 miles to a tank when my car was NA at highway speeds.

How old is your 02 sensor?

Hmmmm I completely forgot a new o2 sensor will improve mpg. Its prob the original. lol

I don't remember seeing anything about an o2 sensor in the maintinence records. (yes, I have records of all the work ever done to the car including all oil changes, tires, brakes, ect...)

rebuilt engine
new plugs and wires
5w30 castrol
gutted cat, and intake that eliminates the silencer. and that was on 89 octane, i wanna see what my milage is on 87.

What o2 Sensor would you guys recommend?

Does autozone sell a exact OEM replacement? I really don't want to cut & rewire a new one.

Also, I've read some people say to change the fuel filter and others say don't. wtf should I do?

If I drive smoothly I can get around 400 miles to a tank, I do mostly highway though. When I'm not driving highway I usually make 330 mile to a tank.

I have HKS cat back, test pipe, CAI, and NGK Spark Plugs and Wires.

I personally don't like much from Autozone. I haven't tried but NGK seems to have quality parts, other than that, I would go Denso. Good luck!

I get an average of 22 mpg with more than a dozen floored accelerations per fill up. Mixed city/highway. 281,000 miles on rebuilt original motor. 31,000 miles since full rebuild.

I have rather complete records for the car and no mention of an O2 sensor being replaced. Could very well be the original.

My city mileage is around 260ish but that's sometimes with a heavy foot and windows down.

My highway mileage is around 340ish but that's not using the full tank, having windows down, and cruising at high speeds (massive drag!).

Oh, and I'm automatic.
