I went with the lightened one that 935 sells. I'm very impressed with its quality.
Thanks for the info. I will probably go with the one piece light one for cost reasons, but I was talking to Luis at paradise racing and he thinks the cost is not a factor for one reason. He said when you try to get a lightened one resurfaced your going to pay $150 or so cause of the hardness of the metal ,and that the shop you goto is going to count on breaking bits to get it turned. I dont know if that true or not, but how often do you have to get one resurfaced anyway.

looking good Rak

I haven't read every page yet, but did you put in a oil filter relocation kit? if so wich one?

You need to put up some pictures :)

I didn't put in a relocation kit, but I probably will in the future. I want to put in a full flow cooler, so I'll stick one in then.

EDIT: picture removed because I was stooooopid

Progress report: Aaron & Jose have assumed control of the remainder of the swap. I ran out of time, so I turned it over to them.

The transporter damaged the rear end a little, but it will be fixed. It pissed me off, but what can you do?

Whats up soldier?!

Who's that in the pic? And is that a busted tail light? GRRRR!

Hey Dood! That's Jose in the picture, my ride is in California with Aaron & Jose. I ran out of time. While I was letting the car warm up for the first time, I looked underneath & found a steady drip coming out of the bell housing. :( This was a day or two before I left for Ft Benning, so Aaron was kind enough to take on my car's misc projects & put in my single too.

The damage to the rear end was caused by the carrier. I'm talking to Aaron about getting it painted while it's out there, so when I get it back, it will be done. Strange turn of events, but whatever works is fine with me. I just want my car done. I need it done, it will be my daily driver.

That is now one of the most travelled supras in the world, plus the motor came from Japan. I wish I had given mine to Aaron and Jose, but the shipping it out there kind of made up my mind for me. I may end up sending it to them anyways if I can't get it done, but I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

When do you get to come home? Hopefully we will have a meet in Alabama sometime this spring and would love it if you could make it. I'm hoping Jake gets off of his ass and gets his car fixxed as well, so he can make it.............:biglaugh:

Good luck and stay low.........................lol

I'm not deploying until next fall. I have a lot of courses to attend. I'll be in Wite Sands Missile Range for school for All of January & part of February. I return to Ft Benning on 09 Feb.

New report:

Aaron & I spoke today & worked out the remainder of the details. He will have the car painted due to the body damage suffered during the transportation along with wrapping up the small details & install the single set up I'm getting from MDC. After over a year of being off the road, my car will transform from a mildly modified, 200 rwhp 7MGTE to a 500+ rwhp (possible) 1JZ beast!

The funny part is that SM members will see the balance of the progress before I will. I've asked Aaron to post pics as he goes along in hopes that I can view them on my blackberry while I'm in the Transition Course. I leave tomorrow to attend it in White Sands, New Mexico for 5 weeks, so unless I can find a hotspot, I might not be able to see the pictures.

Let me say this: Aaron & Jose have saved my bacon. If they couldn't have helped me, I would have more than likely had to part me car out & buy something else. I have to have a reliable daily driver when I return & Aaron & Jose have earned my faith that I will due the trust they earned from me long ago. If there is any doubt as to their professionalism, let me squash it out. They are the most professional people that I have dealt with in a while, & I'm extremely thankful for their help.

The car is at PJ's still. It should be done this week coming up. I just got the turbo kit Rakkasan purchased from MDC Motorsports in the mail on Thursday. I have not opened it up, but I'll check it out later today and take some pics. Jose went by PJ's last week and took some pics of the car in the paint booth, I'll get him to post those later today or send them to me. I got the 550cc injectors from Jason after I sent some money for shipping, and I sent them to RC for cleaning and testing. Everything is going well, just taking a little extra time at the paint shop. As soon as it come back we will be working on it, I can't wait to get started!
