Mark, OMG man, you are SOOOOOO lucky!!!

I agree, after a year & a half of staring at my car in hundreds of pieces, I can't believe that the car in the pictures above is MY car. I guess reality will slap me in the face once it gets here...

What is color sanding anyway?
It's when the paint is wet sanded in order to remove any orange peel & other imperfections & then polished to remove the sanding lines. Judging by the pics, color sanding might not be required. It look freakin fabulous....

Ok, here's where it's at now:

First the good:

Twins are gone!

While I was removing the turbos

Now the bad:

Brand new Spec clutch disk is warped :icon_conf
p519224_3.jpg

If you've installed a rear main seal on a 1jz before, you should be able to look at this pic and see why it was leaking oil badly. :icon_wink
p519224_4.jpg

Tip ties holding the power steering line to the sway bar is like bad and stuff :biglaugh:

ARZ brake lines are not designed to replace both upper and lower brake hoses, we noticed that the way it was installed it was rubbing the shock and gets almost pinched with the steering at full lock. I'll make new custom brake lines for it.

Looking real good Aaron. Love the pics. Question though. Why didnt your remove the twins before you dropped the motor in? Since I have heard they are such a pain to remove and all.

The engine was already installed. We are troubleshooting some installation issues, installing the turbo kit Mark got from MDC Motorsports, e-manage, wideband, PJ painted it, and last we're tuning it on the dyno.

Oh I see. So Its Marks fault that he changed turbo setups on you late in the game.:biglaugh: Whats he going with anyway. I cant wait to drive my fresh build with the 57 trim I got from MDC

Yep, it is my fault. I should have installed the single first, but I worried about timing. I had ordered the turbo/wastegate/DP from MDC Motorsports, but it took a while to get because it was custom. After dropping in the motor, I regretted not waiting for it to arrive because I didn't make my deadline for getting the car running anyway. I cut a lot of corners trying to make my deadline (see the zip tie pictures) with the intentions of fixing them later, but since I didn't, I asked Aaron & Jose to pick up my slack since I spend just about every waking moment away from home.....

Awesome indeed Mark. I wish my car was going to be that nice. Heck all I want is to be able to drive mine. 1JZ, GTE, or heck even GE lol

 The supplied manifold doesn't fit in the car. The manifold was not part of the MDC turbo kit, so it wasn't Jon's fault.
It's too wide so it hits the chassis of the car, and the wastegate is sitting on the motor mount.

We have a manifold that fits the engine and the car fine, but it had a flange for a different wastegate and the angle needed to be changed. I modified the wastegate pipe and got it tacked together last night.

Great build so far! Aaron, I love the work and dedication you give to us fellow supra enthusiasts ;). A true asset to the community, be it for 1J swaps, or unique items for the MKIII in general ;).

Haa!!!!! Mark had to have Aaron do his 1jz swap. What an idiot................OH yeah, Aaron had to bail me out too. Mark you're a freaking genius sending your car to www.driftmotion.com to get fixed. It should be a real beast when they're done. What turbo is that on there and what kind of hp are you shooting for? Aaron, you can answer this as Mark may be out of pocket............lol

::salute::

It's the MDC special :) I'm not too sure of the specs to be honest, I think maybe a 60-1. WHP......well if it makes 420-450 whp I think we would be happy with that. We're using 440cc injectors.
