So she starts up now but doesn't stay running. I'm thinking its the ECU. I'm gonna try another ECU to double check before I send this out to get fixed. I know something was wrong with my ECU when I last used it. It runs so rich that it bogs down and dies. Still gotta hook up the slave cylinder, bleed the system, run a hose for the power steering. Then I should hopefully be able to cruise to meets this season.

yeah if the fuel damper was the only problem and we run into no other problems then the car should be good to go this week

hopefully he got to it today, i haven't heard anything saying "run into another issue" so that could either be a good thing or a bad thing

i was thinking of going up there tomorrow after class since i have to get those top mounts from the jvt rad so i can send them all back i forgot them there

Still trouble shooting. But I think the ecu did make a difference. Before swapping the ecu bit was running so rich it would bog down and die. After changing the ecu the afr was in the 13's but would still stall after a few seconds. I thought i would try changing the timing. I changed it to E-3 I+1. Now it idles but won't rev and I got a code 31. Inswapped out maps but still the same. Ideas anyone?

While I was at work yesterday it just dawned on me that "oh I had the neo hooked up with the old setup". So after work I went to the garage and sure enough my assumption was correct. I had forgotten to hook up the wire for the airflow/pressure signal. I hooked up the wire and it started right up. So the map and iac are fine. Then I ran into my next problem. The car wouldn't rev past 2500-3k rpm. A common problem when doing the 1j swap. I had this problem last time too. I remembered there was a connector that shouldn't be hooked up. Unplugged it and runs and revs. It wouldn't idle properly because of the cams so I raised the idle for now.
