Well i have the rom board off and i will be back home next week sometime

PM Sent Mattjk. Just gave you the info i found about the costs. Not that it is easy to find allot of info. Allot of people give you the contacts us bit...lol

I figure i would sell it in favour of going with a Full Stnadalone that is also Plug&play while maintaining all the OEM functionality. Like the HKS V-Pro or something. I don't mind that a dealer need to program it since i dont have enough knowledge myself to do it.

either way we will see how things go

I figured i would try my ECU with out the techtom on it and No more backfiring :)

Just very slight small ones at 3K plus very small, not to sure why yet

No Check engine light either

I think i have a bad alternator though. The car is idling now between 300 - 500 RPM and my Alt is providing 12.5V when i get it up to 1K then i see 14V from my Alt.

I am at a loss now

When i started the car up everything was perfect no backfire, idle was dead on and 14.3V from the Alt, I have a Apexi TT When i went to turn the car off, the timer just shut off right away instead of letting the car idle, it is set for a specific time ????

Then i tried starting the car again, Bad idle, low voltage, Backfiring/missing a bit when revving above 2K?????????????

Checked the ECU again still just the one Blown Capacitor.

i am at a bit of a loss on this one. It works and runs perfectly then shut it off, start it up again, then it does not run right??? :(

Damnit Man!!!!!!! I was so hoping that yours would go smoothly, and give me a sense of false hope. Hopefully someone on here will bail you out. I know Aaron is online right now, so maybe he can help you figure this one out. Good luck brother...............lol

For the most part it has not gone that rough, i am very thankful for that.

Keep your hopes up i think you won't have to many issues. I think you have a better starting point then i did on my build Jay

i forget are you getting a stand alone or are you keeping the stock ECU and using some piggy backs.

Mattjk suggests having all the capacitors changed, it is a very good idea. A TV Repaire shop should be able to do it no problem.

I just read all 42 pages of this... yay! lol Did you get your idling problem fixed yet? 2jz alts are the direct replacements I think. How much do TV repair shops to swap your caps out? I can do it, and I'd be willing to do it for like shipping and maybe a dollar for a coke or something

I am getting the ECU Fixed this weekend, so i will let you know probably next weekend if all is fixed with idling and alt regulation

The Alternator for a 93-94 Lexus SC300 is a perfect match and is higher amperage i belive. it has been said it's only $100 at the dealer!

i have been stalled for a bit on this.

thnx for taking the time to read through everything. i have nto had a chance yet but i am going to put together a resourse site of sorts for 1Jz instals for guy like me with still beginer knowledge

I remember that now, 110 amp instead of 100 I believe. Lifetime warranty too.

EDIT: Doesn't the SC300 have a 2jzge?

small update

i got lucky on the ECU repair. My step-fathers friend at work said he could do the work on the board. The guy normally Builds / Solders, repairs and installs Cuircut boards for Jet Aircraft at bombardier and has been doing it for 35 years :) I think he knows what he's doing.

I can't wait to test out the ECU and see how everything is running. I'm pretty sure that all will be good after this is done. :biglaugh:

I made an estimated price list for mine today, not counting a boost gauge, BOV and the 550cc injectors w/ Walbro (wants) it came to $3390 USD. Everything but the engine was off of DM. I guesstimated the shipping but I think I was conservative.

EDIT: Yeah lifetime warranty ftw

i replied to your PM hope it was not to long. it is always good to estimate your costs. Don't forget vital fluids.

Just make sure you add an extra $1000 to what you are doing. It always adds up fast for just the litthe things here and there

Well i The Guy working on my ECU finally had some time to look at it. Found out i had a whole bunch of dead Capacitors :biglaugh: There were a bunch that just have not spewed their contents onto the board

Anyways i should have it back next weekend

Then i finally can get some vids in. If the roads are clear i'll take it for a spin
