So I recieved my cap and installed it yesterday, it was quite a process preparing for install, but I didn't take any pictures, and it's boring anyways.

I had to get a lil creative to hold the cap on while the glue was setting up In comes broom, cardboard tube, and vacuum cleaner extension tubes and some regualr cardboard

and after... it's still dirty, becasue the broom made a mess of course, but it looks great, expecially compared to what it was before!

I am having some big troubles with the guys I purchased my rear axle parts from ( justdifferentials.com ), they keep giving me the run-around.

The pinion I got from them doesnt fit right, and they refuse to make it right...
Hoping i'll make something happen.

I am leary about throwing that turbo on, it's only about 450WHP capable, so I don't know if it is worth changing from the ct26 57 trim until I blow it up.... which may happen in short order with 2-step launches

More new parts!

I recieved my 3.55 R&P, and master rebuild kit... ya know, bearings and such

p1818054_1.jpg

Started to put it all together last night, I will be doing this myself of course.

How can you learn and educate yourself if you just pay someone to do it for you?

Pressing on the new bearing after getting the ring gear on there. Having some issues with the company I got the ring gear bolts from... they are useless garbage, so I will be delayed on getting it completely together until I can get some good bolts

p1818054_2.jpg

Drove out the old races and pressed in the new ones.

p1818054_4.jpg

p1818054_5.jpg

Also repainted the dash parts the way it was from the factory, with some silver. The part around the air vents, and the "CELICA" lettering

p1818054_6.jpg

diffs are cake to rebuild it the tools not every one has like a a press/barring splitter/pion depth shims/torq meter and dail gauge on and marking compound

ps run the cage's tight to help prevent deflection but only if run brand new barrings

Dash is looking nice, like it belongs that way in the first place... and good to know on the justdifferentials.com guys. Hope things get straightened out for you. Word of mouth is enough to sink a business...

I have finished the dash up, got some new gauges installed, including a fuel level gauge because I could no longer use the stock one.

It's been quite a process trying to make all of the interior black. Still not quite finished, but here is my progress.

p1826222_2.jpg

I used black cloth to recover the inside of the A-pillars. Before they were covered in vinyl that was ripped from when I messed up while installing a new windshield gasket. Looks much better now.

Mostly ready to go.

p1826222_4.jpg

I also purchased some goodies to get ready to install the holset turbocharger, and a driveshaft loop for safety.

Put the differential in over the weekend, and while Installing the axles, i discovered that they were twisted...

So now I need to buy some new axles as well, this shit is getting way too expensive!

I will just run the axles that I have for now, but I have the feeling that they are going to break.

Drove the car around a little bit to break the differential in, it's not perfectly quiet, but it's much much better than the previous one.

Next step.... not sure

I am going to have a hard time pulling apart a now running and driving car for the new turbo and oil cooler install.

Is it just me, or is something snowballing around here? :p

Well, you did pretty much triple the torque output that those axles were paired with when the car was built... Welcome to the game of fix what breaks to find the next weakest link. :p

I am afraid to find out what the next weakest link will be after the axles! Hoping the clutch holds.... It's just a 6 puck disc with a OEM pressure plate. Holds pretty good so far though.

Here is the car back on the ground. I have been having some fun with it the last few days.

My guess, the clutch... but the driveshaft might let go too, if it's stock. I don't think I saw what you're running as far as a driveshaft.

By the way, I am loving the paint scheme. Who said beige can't bite? :evil2:

Looks like you pissed off quite a few people :evil2:
I imagine... Then again, you have to accept that there is ALWAYS going to be someone faster, no matter how fast you are. I mean, I wasn't upset that most of the Supra owners got their asses handed to them by 10 second tin cans with an H badge on the nose...

I do wonder about that CTS-V though, sounds like he was afraid of the loud pedal.
