Next thing, I need to install the Clutch line before the engine goes in. Hopefully I can take care of this tomorrow - should be pretty easy and quick.

Next thing to tackle is the wiring.......... joy!

Well I had a window of opportunity today and decided to forgo with the engine install.
Enlisted two of my visiting nephews and go tthe engine in without much hassle. The clutch line is in the stock location .
I think it looks pretty good in the engine bay as it sits lol. I still have to bolt everything up though.

Fun Fun Fun Job Ain't It? :aigo:

Did you have to cut your shifter hole to clear the R154?

Could you take me a pic if you didn't because it looks like i have to.

Thanks Moe!

Yeah the auto hole is almost half the size of the 5 speed hole. I looked and it seemed to have lined up to go through, but did not pay much attention.
I will take a picture tonight and post it up. If I have to cut it, I don't think it will be more than a couple of inches.

The clutch pedal shouldn't be too hard. I have down pretty good as I have done at least three - twice to remove them and once to install lol.
Easy if you remove the driver seat and use a nice long extension with a wobble.:biglaugh:

Don't worry if you had to cut it. I just wanted to compare and see if mine is the same. I'll just have my cousin bring the uncles car and i'll make a template from that.

So thats what i did wrong. hahahaaha

Ohh well it's done now. :naughty:

Okay so I may trim a little so that it does not contact the metal and vibrate.
Here's the picture of the auto tranny hole with a 5 speed as requested:

There is about a 1/4 inch clearance.

Strange; Everyone told me i had to cut the section towards the back.

That's enough Clearance for me.

You better show up to silv.

:)

Thanks A LOT MOE!

Saved me from hacking my car for no reason. :)

And you need a shifter bushing. haha

HAaha, yeah ...Im getting a set from Marlin Crawler. But I may also be ordering a short shifter from New Zealand. :)

Oh before you hack anything up, mock it up first as you may not have to cut anything. The 1JZ bell hosing is a little shorter than the 7m one and that may be the difference here.

What kind of short shifter? :)

I just tried to mock my Manual Shifter to my Auto car and couldn't.

I have to drill the lower holes on the shifter to body plate 1/2 an inch higher.

Do you have this problem, or did Bert give me a shifter from a MK2. ahahhaha

Send me a PM on the shifter if it's what i think it is.

Edit: Just did quick measurements of my shifter seat and auto shifter plate and nothing matches up.

Nah its not the shifter. The plates for the 5 speed will need new mounting holes made for. I willl use some self taping screw once everything is ready to be bolted.
