so how much do you have into this swap (if you don't mind me asking ;))

Let's see here...

$900 for the engine and all acessories. I built the mounts with about $50 worth of metal. Ditto the oil pan. Spent $200 on a core engine for test fitment. $500 for HPTuners software. $150 for the clutch. $300 for the flywheel. It all adds up to about $2500.
I probably could have saved a few hundred by paying for a reflash instead of buy HPT, but I want to go turbo down the road.

Before I started the swap, I compared the costs to a 2JZ NA-T. Power wise, this swap compares to a 2JZ running about 10lbs of boost. For that swap you'll spend $700 just to adapt the R154 + cost of the engine + turbo.

For my purposes I found the Vortec to be a better deal ... even though I'm way over budget :)

I thought it had exhaust on it in the video... Looking very nice and clean too! Congrats.

Thanks! Open manifold and dangling cat back.

I'm having trouble sourcing the manifold flange ...

Hold that thought, I may have a solution for you...

Any help appreciated. The only way that I know of to get it, is to buy the entire pipe (with cat) from GM. Not cheap.

haha not cheap at all.
Holding on for a core return I think we have out, then I'll cut the flange off it with a bit of pipe and send it to you.

Checked it against a couple cores we have from full size trucks with similar looking flanges, but go figure, the bolt spacing is different on them. Damn GM...
