Can you tell me what year/model of the Colorado the Slave and Bearing retainer came from?

Not exactly. I looked it up for a 2006, but it crosses with a lot of vehicles. AFAIK, they are all the same between colorado, solstice, corvette, h3, etc.

Figured out yet whether or not you'll need to cowl the hood?

Nope! I'll have to build the intake/resonator delete first, as someone mentioned.
Rest assured, I do not want this to look like a pro street camaro.

Thanks. Where did you source the retainer? Junk yard or dealer?

~$50

You looking at using this setup? I suppose it would make a UZ swap that much easier.

Understood. I'm hoping the most you'll have to do is (nothing) although I wouldn't be surprised if you have to modify some of the hood's framing.

Keep up the good work! I've been following this intently since you started. :icon_bigg

I was down with the swine flu and am just coming off bronchitis now. Here's the latest though:

Fitting the TB pedal in was a pain the butt, but allowed me to address a couple concerns.
I absolutely hate when pedals can't reach the full stroke due to the carpet or floormats. My bracket lifts the gas pedal to be level with the brake pedal, ensuring full stroke and easy heal-toeing.

Here I am applying slight braking pressure and about 2/3 throttle:

This is 100% throttle.

This is the clutch master out of Chevy Colorado. The benefit of using this master is that it is correctly sized for the hyrdaulic throw-out bearing and it includes the otherwise hard-to-get quick connect fitting on the clutch line. On the down side, it needs adapting to the fire wall (no bolts, it's a cam lock design) and to the clutch pedal.

And this is the firewall adapter, I had a buddy machine. There was supposed to be 2 holes for studs, but no problem, I used a through bolt on one side.

Clutch fitting installed using the Colorado line. It's tight, but it works.

Awesome progress, man.

Thanks, motivation seems to be proportial to outdoor temperature.

Here's my Supra oil pressure sender rigged up to the 4.2. Science damn whoever decided to use metric fittings on both of the galley ports. One is M16 x 2.0 and the other is M16 x 1.5. Good luck finding either of those at Home Depot.

What you see in the pictures is a M16 x 1.5 => 3/8 NPT 45 deg => 3/8 to 1/8 NPT => Sender and a whole lot of sealant. Blow me GM. I hope you go bankrupt. Again.

Good news and bad news today.

Bad news: Got my clutch master modifed to mate with the Supra clutch pedal. When bleeding, I heard a gurgling sound. I looked under the car only to find brake fluid draining out of the bellhousing. Sonuvabitch. I guess the trans is gonna have to come back out. I really hate pulling transmissions.

Good news: Spliced in my Supra oil pressure sender, fired it up and registered a clean 40 psi. That's one way to fix the Supra low oil pressure

I bought a new clutch slave and pulled the trans back out.

p1476716_1.jpg

The old slave was dripping in brake fluid. I bolted in the new slave and started to throw everything back together, but couldn't shake a nagging question: "Why did it fail?"

I tore down the old slave to see how it works. Then I re-attached it to the clutch line and draped it over the fender. Skeet skeet.

I wanted to say "busted seal" and be done with it, but that's not what happened. Turns out my flywheel puts the clutch closer to the engine than in the stock 5 cylinders. The clutch slave was just barely reaching the clutch. Once I tried to bleed it, it over extended and did what you saw in the video, only inside the bellhousing.

So I didn't really need a new slave, but I used the old one to make a spacer for the new one. Expensive, but it works.

Mocking up my intake:

Threw in my radiator to see how bad it is:

p1476720_3.jpg

Hard to see in the pics, but that's not gonna fly. I'm planning on switching to a 300zx radiator. Dimensions are similar, but the outlets are on the proper sides for the 4.2

Got the trans back in today. The slave bled real easy, and the pedal feels good.
