Yea, I want to burn down that GT-R so bad once my car is back together/tuned. Probably only going to do like a ~500 mile break-in, since it's just new rings, and not the whole engine. He was only running 11.5-11.7's at the MAP shootout I believe, trapping about 125ish. Should be A LOT faster than that for a modded GT-R IMHO. I should make around the same power as that thing, and have about an 800 lb advantage on him too, but those cars are freaks, it seems like the Power v. Weight ratio doesn't seem to matter for those cars for some reason...

So, when's the open house (or shed lol) ?

Supra update: I have been driving her as my daily driver. Yesterday the crank pulley blew up. It damaged my fan and bent the timing tensioner. I still have not pulled her apart yet to access any other damage. I did order an ATI crank pulley today though.

Garage: Latest is we are nearly done with metal sheeting. The electrical stuff got started today and she is really looking bright in there. What do you think?

I think the garage is coming together awesome.

So how many miles total have you been able to put on the supra before this last speed bump ?

Rob, I probably got 500 on her. She still needs a decent tune. Was running pretty good. With a bit of luck, she should be running again this weekend.

Electrical stuff is 3/4 done. Inspector comes out on Friday.

Latest update: Sean and I pulled out the radiator, fan clutch, lower timing belt assembly. The serpentine tensioner is bent as well as the timing belt tensioner, timing belt is shot, and a few other bent bolts. Here is a photo of the lower timing belt cover. When the crank pulley blew, she really bent the shit out of the lower front end of engine.

The shop is moving along. Sean and Gary have been working to get the storage racks up and Justin has been working on the electrical stuff. We should have roughed in inspection on Thursday. Once we get the green light we will blow all those bags of insulation into the attic. We are getting a lot closer

I am really glad Gary and I switched around those doors! Looking at the pics of how they were and how they are makes it very clear it was the right choice.

Welcome to my world Dan. I've blown 2 crank pulley's. The first exploded and did a ton of damage (98 miles from home), and the 2nd just separated, while my car was getting dyno tuned. Just think, the damage could have been a hell of a lot worse.

The garage looks pretty good. I take it the walls are fully insulated?

Honestabe, I suppose your right. It could have been at the track or far from home when she blew up. NOw with the ATI I am hopefully done. And, yes, the garage will be fully insulated and heated once we finish up the wiring. I am still looking for a 110,000bty hanging propane furnace, plus she is also going to have another hoist. I had to leave the last hoist to seal the deal on the old house sale. This is going to be a fun winter. Watching Sean do the LSX swap, plus finishing off my interior, perhaps moving up in turbo size and more.

Latest on the 2JZ. Tonight we installed the new ATI crank pulley and put her back together. She runs good. We sure bent a lot of stuff when the OEM one blew apart. I found a missing exhaust manifold bolt tonight as well. Will get to her when we send the turbo back to Comp for the billet wheel they owe me.

Garage is coming along. More photos tomorrow night. Electricity is 95% complete. Building benches and painting, working on the bathroom.

Jeremy, I think we will wait until early spring, then have a meet. If we could ever get the boys together and work hard on her it would only take a few days to complete her. However, every one has jobs and so we are limping along slowly. Besides I am running out of money. Getting the bathroom done before freeze up is on my priority list as is building 2 more large work benches. I think you will like what you see. Feel free to pm me if you are coming to town and we will give you the grand tour.

Mike,
My brother was likely in the shop. We are working on building the last 2 work benches and the welding bench, along with finishing up the bathroom. The heater should be hung on Tuesday and from there we just need to permanetly mount the compressor and plumb the air lines. It has taken a while to get this far but the end is in sight.

Kind of like building a Supra! Garage looks great, I'm envious! Hope you have a lot of fun in there.

Good shit man. You should have a Superbowl party when the time comes.

Drew, you're going to love your car when its done. 350whp feels ridiculous right now and that's with a big laggy turbo.

LOL @ Laggy turbo, you have the same size turbo as my Talon and you have a whole extra liter of displacement. My Turbo isn't even considered "Big" in the DSM world haha, more like medium or so for a 2.0L 4g63 :)
