Yea, the clamps should be fine if they are the spring type. If they are the worm clamps, I would get new spring ones, I have had several worm clamps work their way loose over time...they kinda suck.

And I Would replace any coolant hoses that you haven't already...or if it has unknown milage or is original.
Iiiight.

And I'll get you a picture later tonight
and tomorrow
of the $200+ I spent on hoses and gaskets
haha.

Little bit of an update:

Picked up the head after school today,
looked good, the guy said he took quite a bit off, that the edges were just fine, it was just around the firing that was sunk in a bit. I forget the exact amount he took off but it was something like 16 thousandths or something if that sounds right? He said it should be fine and shouldn't screw anything up.
I'm going to pick up a gasket scraper tonight from Eddie (Toyota master round here :)) and go at the block again, and I need to take off the valley gasket as well off the head and clean it up a bit.
Got my first box of parts from Mark yesterday, I'll take some pictures when I get home from work tonight. I'm hoping my ARP's came tonight after I left for work, or come tomorrow. I'm going to be PISSSED if they don't.
My next shipment from mark should be there tomorrow as well and we should be putting it together.
I think that's about it for now.

edit!
anyone coming over tomorrow, we'll need a soldering iron.

want to get me a picture of that?

Little bit of a setback.
UPS sucks and hasn't delivered the package mark sent out 2 days ago,
from vancouver, which should just make it here in a couple hours. haha.
So, we got the head on, arp studs in, but not torqued yet, and a new lower hardpipe for the intercooler system.
I'm hoping the package comes REAL early tomorrow morning, but chances are it won't.
if it does, I'm going to see how much I can get done by myself. I have to work at 4, but I might just leave at like 6 and come back and work on it for a couple hours to work on it before hanging out with the girlfriend tomorrow night.
If anyone is available to give me a hand or insight around those times, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'll resume the rest on saturday as well when i get off work at 6, and I'd love to have a helping hand then if possible!

Looking good! I see you haven't put your cams in yet...make sure the two front cam caps are on really good...because if they aren't, they will leak A LOT of oil, and it will smok after just a few minutes...lol...ask me how I know.

^^ Just put the sealant under the caps where the TSRM recommends, and torque in the correct order according to the tsrm! Kyle is in good hands here :)
