Even ****I**** (Representer of teh' Auto) LOL'd at that.

TEMS + Auto = NOT Auto Crossing.....

That'd be like taking an ice cream truck drifting.

(I know, I'm sure someone in Japan has already done that so nvm)...:icon_conf

actually, ex-girlfriend took first place at the auto-x at the supra meet in new jersey. granted there was a supra class, but she still beat out quite a few people, including a few mkiv.

i didnt have the high stall converter at the time tho. it was stock suspension with tems (in good shape), good tires on 17x9's, and a ct upgrade.

that pic is f'n great tho!

Jesus??? WHERE?!?! :nono:

If your TEMS is actually functional (and not blown like 95% of the Supras equipped with it today) and your Auto isn't a big messy slushbox of slippage, I'm sure it won't be too bad...

Ask Dave (and anyone else that drove in our pack to Chicago 2006 last year)...When I had stock suspension (TEMS)...Everytime I hit a bump, my wheel(s) literally popped off the ground...So, not something I'd entirely depend on when I'm trying to grab a corner at 50mph.

The biggest killer about an Automatic car doing AutoX or Drifting is the sheer fact that, you don't always have control of your gears, so for example, coming out of a corner, you won't be holding that low gear already,
rather, once you got WOT, it'll have to kick back down into 1st or kick back down into 2nd...Other than that, not so bad.

What kind of tires do you have with the auto+ stock tems?

you asking me?

i had 255/40/17 michelin pilot sport xx. i dont think they make them anymore. the are most similar to the pilot sport ps2 they make now.

they hooked like mad and didnt wear that bad. they were a little spendy, and a little noisy tho.

Good tires. I have 2 of them left on my supra. I should have quoted. Some one was asking about the running with an auto+ stock suspesion. I was curious what kind of tires he was running.

How can I tell if my TEMS works?

I'm pretty sure it does, the lights go on and off (Including the 3rd one when driven to make it pop on and off), and I can hear a clicking on my front and rear sus. when I click from sport to normal or vice-versa.

Jeffs uber blown POS suspension caused his wheel hopping, not TEMS.

I was wondering what TEMS would have to do with wheel hopping, unless it's FWD....

Are you holding out on us Jeff?

Have you shamed the Supra name by converting it to 1.8 liter FWD??

I'm disappointed in you...

matt- not wheel hop from launching/lack of traction. wheel hop from no dampening.

just because the lights and solenoids work, doesnt mean the shocks themselves are doing anything. the way i always demonstrate on my car: put it in full soft mode. then press down on the bumper (front and rear). then switch over to sport mode and do the same thing. it should be apparent if its working or not. there is also a mod you can do to lock tems in full firm (3bars) at all time.

boosted- yeah i really liked them. but the xx arent offered anymore and the ps2 dont have the size i run now.

haha, I remember watching his car in my rear view on the way to chicago, That thing was scary

What....THEY said. IDGAF about wheel hop and traction...
I was talking about when my shocks and overall suspension were fubared.
It's what happens to lots of stock Supra suspensions after a while.
When I was making reference to TEMS, that was in terms of how it would handle going from stiff to...stiffer. :naughty:
