I've been trying to get people to come to southern IN for YEARS... it's not happening.

Hell, people who live 12 mins from me are too good to show up. But this is every other meet, so I shouldn't feel special. I try giving away FREE parts that said people called and asked me about when they needed them, Free food (hog roast, not hotdogs), nothing. I suppose one year I had 3 people show up, Rumptis, BoostLeak, and... a fella from Lafayette IIRC.

More people have shown up to work on BoostLeaks car than my meets.

I'm over it. Someone can organize something and I'll attend, but as far as planning goes count me out. Maybe when I get my house and garage built I'll consider trying again but nothing until then.

which guy are you? i tried to talk to everyone there, and maybe i did talk you but not putting the face and screen name together.

I have the blue supra with the bad paint. The one that was next to the 1jz lexus. I had glasses and a black hoody jacket on. I think I spoke with you.
I am good at remembering faces just not names.

I would have been down to go to the track but I can't do 2 days in a row.
If the track day was this Saturday I would be able to do it. Got to balance the family in there. A 2 day event is hard for a lot of people. Unless I have something planned I will always be open to Supra meets. I feel we get robbed in this area (Tri state) I have been to 300zx and mr2 meets before and it seems like I am always hearing of those going on around here but never any supra meets.

boosted- ok i remember you now. i spoke to you briefly.

as far as the closed door on the dyno, that took me by surprise too. tony had said he didnt want people inside the dyno because of safety reasons. usually he allows it, but for like a couple people. he was afraid of 20+ people they would start to crowd around. but i didnt expect the closed door. the other reason for the closed door was for noise concerns. since we were going to dyno for several hours and there were several loud cars (*cough..fuzz..cough*) he wanted to keep the noise down.

people that listed their email, you should be getting a copy of the video soon if you requested it. if not and you want it, just let me know and i'll get it for you. all of them will be on his youtube page, unless you asked not to be. he just started uploading them tonite. http://www.youtube.com/guywithdyno
of course the real video is much better quality if you want it.

lol, we have sti meets on weeknights and we have ~20 cars show up. We just get together eat dinner somewhere (so also a good way to try new restaurants).

I know, I know. BoostLeak already bitched because they are still in production. The thing that makes it significant, is that all those who say they will be there, are.

well i'll officially cast a vote for a spring time indy meet. then we can have the fall meets here. how does that sound? i do like a change of scenery, and potential for others that live a little further away to make one or both.

im just excited i made 2 meets in a row with my car. i know, i know i didnt dyno and let everyone down. i had planned on to dyno all along, just never said anything. but when it came down to the wire it was in question if i was even going to bring my car. and i did not want to dyno without 100+ octane and couldnt get any until mid day sat when it was too late.

100% down for an Indy meet.

It really make sense....
As I mentioned at our mini White-Castle eat out ;)....

Surrounding states of Indiana:

Michigan - Lots of Supra interest and Supra groups
Ohio - OhioSupras.org.....nuff said.
Illinois - Mostly northern Illi, but lots of Supras here
Kentucky - LOTS of Supras...and definately lots of interest.

It only makes sense to get the best of every group and gather somewhere in Indy...

Because if we can actually plan an event to race..........
I'm positive Indy has about the nicest 1320 Drag Strip you'll ever see.
After all, you always see it on ESPN for NHRA/NDRA :icon_surp

We need to find out what it takes to setup an Autocross, I have never done that but I think it would be a blast.

*Edit*

I should probably be worrying about my BHG repair first.

Obviously, wherever we'd set it up at would have to be approved by the lot owner.
And to be legally racing for an "Auto-X", you have to have it insured in the case that someone would be injured. It's really a headache to have it done legally...So for that, I think we should just find a place that does this kind of stuff anyway and we rent it out for a day.

Thats what I was thinking as well. I know there has been autocross tracks setup at the Columbus Airport before, Matt went to one few years back I think.

They do a lot of autox's at the Kentucky speedway. I have been to a few of them. I am sure it would not be an issue to have a supra meet in with an autox there.

yep, they do them around louisville too.

the only problem with autox is its an all day event. and if you race, you have to work the track when your class isnt running.

All kidding aside, I'd love to find a big flat open field and set cones up in it.... (even in the 82)

Yeah, if we were gonna AutoX I'd say we just pick a date that's already scheduled and just bust in on it. Maybe give them a heads up a month or two out so they knew to expect 20 more cars, but be ready for 3. :icon_bigg

When you hit a cone... the rubber/plastic is a PITA to get off. :icon_surp
