Engine bay is finally done. Thanks to Nate and Tom for the help last weekend. We cranked the motor just to pump the oil (8+ qts.) Pressurized the fuel system to check for leaks.

Ron,

you've created something truely amazing. I've seen a fair amount of modified supras, and I can honestly say i've never seen anything quite as amazing or thorough as your modifications have been to your car. everything is above and beyond race-spec parts. drysump and motec pretty much says it all...

I can't wait to see how it performs! PLEASE tell me you'll drive it regularly and not just look at it.

now for a stupid question, the breathers on the valve covers were mentioned earlier, but how exactly does it work? the exhaust side's breather has me really confused too.

unbelievable, really. I hope you're very proud of your work (as proud as a perfectionist can be).

Steve

Thanks guys. The valves on the valve cover; vacuum regulator, too much vacuum in the crankcase created by the oil pump will cause oil starvation. Other one is a pressure relief valve, under boost, there may be positive pressure in the crankcase, this is to prevent blowing seals out. Both valves are one way. HTH

I am using stock cam gears because I'm not sure if I will need an adjustable one. Custom ones will still be made but we have to know whether they will have to be adjustable (multi-piece) or non-adjustable (one-piece) They will look just like my Kinesis wheels :)

I wouldn't hesitate recommending what I have. But if you are looking for something cheaper, the miller 180 is a good choice too. One other good name is thermal arc, I wouldn't mind having a 300tsw but that's an old model, they probably replaced it already. A water cooled torch is nice to have, too.

what about a miller Econotig? i was looking at one of those pretty seriously. i liked it because it was better than an entry level thing from harbor frieght, plus i think it had a high freq start as well doing AC welding for aluminum. i wanna say it was good for 180amp too.

Yummy... Now start it!

I'm really starting to feel like you've just been teasing me this whole time. Like, after all this, you'll never actually start it for us. lol :(
