Haha, I hope he has the same 'sense of haha'

So did you run the wire?

ight dumbo yea it was short i splice the wire directly from where it plugs into the ecu to about an inch from where the wireharness plugs into the fusebox, an inch along the engine wire harness side and it still put out code 11, I then had it running straite to the battery, no more code 11,

now its just 32 and 51 probably from the tps being out of adjustment from messing with it before.

Thanks guys for all of your help, i plan on wiring up an inline fuse and just tap it off from the battery and do a wire tuck to make it look clean lol..

now im off to deal with the tps and ill see if code 11 comes back.

ok i kno the tps is from me and my friends messing with and just need adjustment, i unplug and just plug into a different tps and no more code 51 so now the only code left is 32,

i turn the carr off and one and 11 does not come back, if i take off the wire i have running from the battery it comes back so im assuming my fix did the trick. and now its just code 32 i have yet to start the car backup due to the throttle body and wires and shyt all across it so now imma clean it all up and start her back up after i finish adjusting this throttle body and see how shes running

my car had the same problem at idle after i installed the turbo... mine had a check engine light, i forget what code but it had something to do with air temperature signal. but that was when i had the GE electronics i blamed the problem on the maf because if i played with it and stoped some of the air flow the idle went down and some told me the sensor that was bad was part of the maf. i never actually changed it to see if that was the problem i just changed to all gte electronic and it fixed the problem, but i see that you had already done that so its not much help.

Good work. So now its just a code 32, that is when your not touching the gas right? Code 32 is AFM right?

Forward progress:thumbup:

ok 1rst it was just a code 32 and i checked again to see if the tps was withig spec and it wasn't. When the throttle body was close it was not giving off any resistance at Idl-e2. I adjusted so everything was inspect and went to check for codes again and i have code 43 and 32. 32 is the afm and 43 is the ecu getting no stat signal.

ok tried swapping diff afms, still code 32.

did the check by the ecu and everything is within spec except when the car was running only once did the voltage between 2-4v dropped below 2 and that was 4 a quick second at 1.5 something and never again did it do it the 4 times that i started and restarted the car. and the idle issue was still random through out the checking and im still getting a code 32

Aye yae I.

I would concentrate on 32, why the hell did 43 come up all of a sudden??? I don`t think 43 has anything to do with the TPS.

Have you tried running the car lately? I would reset the ecu(sorry jetjock) and run it and check codes again, just so you`ve got a clean slate. That 43 is out of left feild, but I`m not sure if it`ll effect running or not.

EDIT: I type slow, I missed you previous post...this is quickly going beyond me...

I bet if you skinned the shielding back on the harness before the AFM plug, you will find green wires. When I bit the bullet and replaced my harness, I cleared up 5 problems just like that. I bought a harness that was only a year or so old, so I didn't have to lay out $500 on a new one, but still got a real good one.

I know it sounds as if the harness is in bad shape, but its nice to know the problem before replacing parts.

It doesn't. Just as code 32 doesn't have anything to do with the AFM...
jetjock-Mind point us in the right direction then??? PLEASE hahaha

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one helping this guy out.

ok jet jock in my previous thread you posted me a link

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/TechTips/engine_error_codes.aspx

according to this code 32 is the afm for a 7mge but the hac for a 7mgte.

short circut or open circut in the hac sensor signal

trouble area would be the ecu so the ecu is shot huh? or start testing the hac?

this is what I've been going by tsrm
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=27
The one I've been going by also did not have code 11, its just a piece of shyt, the link to what jetjock has sent me should be stickied and everybody should kno to use it.

so thats what you meant when you said code 32 has nothing to do with the afm

aww man this seems like a lil riddle. he throws hints here and there and we gotta figure it out lol

Not much of a frankenstein setup.

Car was originally an 87 5spd non turbo

motor is now turbo from an 89, the wire harness and ecu are from an 87-88 5spd turbo.

the harness plugs on the ecu plug on the ecu but where is the hac located? and would that still cause the car to idle the way its doing completly random? or is it the ecu?

The HAC should be somewhere up by the ecu/behind glove box, its a small back box about 1.5"x1"x1" and has three wires going to it. Again not sure if this would cause the idle issue but can hurt to check if you have one.

nope hac is not there, could that cause the randomness of the idling?

on my last 7m swap i didnt have the hac either and it never ran like this?

ok find out that i do not need the hac and its not the cause of the idling issue.

so should i just try another ecu ?
