I just say Supra and then laugh at how confused people are when they actually see it.

Well I said what I said because I have talked to a lot of mk4 owners at shows, meets, and in town parked etc. I would say a good 65 to 70 percent of them are arrogant, condensending, and don't give a crap about toyota's they just got the mk4 because any idiot knows they are fast, hence it is the only japanese sports car other than maybe the skyline that almost everyone has heard of in the U.S. I was run off supra forums because of the BS and the rude guys who anytime you asked a question or posted a vid they'd be like "BUuy a MK4, MK3's suck blah blah".

So agree or disagree with me I don't care but you can't change what I think until I am wrong and for now anyways MK4's are predominatley in the hands of the "Richers"

WOW! Talk about generalizations here.

If you spoke with 100 Supra owners at "shows, meets, and in town parked etc" and found that "a good 65 to 70 percent of them are arrogant..." you are still just scratching the surface. There is still a large part of the Supra community that is very cool. I'd guess that the people you meet are within a single day's drive from your home. Could it be a geographical phenomenon? I've met some real "winning" examples of Supra owners in the past 10 years. I have also met more Supra owners that are some of the nicest people I've ever met.

Granted my sampling is limited to those I've met in the NW and at SILV.

At the same time I've also met some real dick-head MkIII guys in the past decade too.

I'm sure if we looked really closely we could find some Klassy MkII and possibly even a MkI owner

This is not a Supra Generational problem.

And to add along to this sort of, It's not so much that the average MKIV owner is a dick or is not a nice guy...but without them being able to help it, a lot of them DO look down on the MKIII guys...and in their shoes, I can understand why they do, but its the MKIV guys that look past the fact that it's older and show that they don't care what Gen you drive, because when it all boils down, WE ALL DRIVE RARE JAPANESE SPORTS CARS THAT HAVE MADE HISTORY AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. Sorry for yelling, hehe. :icon_surp

Supra.
MK3. (Mark, 3 is how I say it.)
MA70. (Mm, Ayy, seventy.)

Lately however, I've noticed people are saying they have a 1J MA70, or 2J MK3...

Can't tell you guys how many times since the first F&F movie, that when I say I have a Supra, the person either says "Cool, like in the F&F" or they look at me funny becasue I'm about 40 and no small dude.

I have owned a MK2 Supra, and really liked that car. In fact, if I would have known 11 years ago how easy it was going to be to swap in a 7MGTE engine, I'd likely have kept it. Crazy thing is, either one setup right is a very appealing car to me. I like the MK4, but it's not a car that stops me in my tracks, and makes me go back for a second look. (Especially if they have a cool mod, or something I really like about the car.)

I get this way about a few vehicles.
Supra's of course. (Mk3, MK2 then the MK4's and MK1's even just since you don't see a nice one very often, so I like to check out any older cars.)
Audi's of the S variety. (RS6 especially a rare breed.)
Some P cars. (Porsches.)
Some Vette's. (The new Z06 is serious eye candy, and I'm really tempted to test drive one, but then I'll want one...)
70's Camaro's, and the first IROC's were badass looking. (The year they put the 350TPI in there was the pinacle I think.)
The final Camaro SS was pretty cool. The flush headlights gave it a very 70's nose, and it reminds me of my 73 untill I get into the rubbermaid interior... Blech!
I have to admit the Mercedes cars have become very interesting indeed. For sedan's they have a very classic style.
Same goes for the BMW's. The 5 and 3 class are nice, but the older 7's still catch my eye. (I was going to buy a 2000 750iL, but ended up with the 1998 Audi A8 and I'm glad I did as it was almost 10k less, and has been awesome fun to drive.)
I've owned a few Q45's mostly for the excellent engine and chassis. (I liked the way my 90 looked better than the 94 I still have collecting dust now.)
The 300ZXtt is interesting, but the new 350Z does nothing for me. Now, the G35 on the other hand... Dang I've come close to buying one a few times, and when they drop in price on the used market, just might pick up one, especially if someone has turbocharged it.... (As it should be offered from the factory.)

So, why keep the MK3 Supra? (Because it's my money pit dang it! And I'd never get out of it what I'm into it, and it's so much F'n fun to drive! The fact that the PD really does not notice it much is just sauce on the goose man.)

DAMN IT! Adjuster, get out of my head. I was gonna write something very similar to this post, but didn't cause I thought I'd go on too long. My thoughts were almost to a "T" what you wrote, even the generation set up of MKIII, MKII, MKIV, MKI in that order, And yes I loved my MKII as well.

I was thinking that Toyota had a car called the "Mark II" other then the MKII supra if that is the case I would expect calling them Mark would be wrong...I try and stick to saying MK because I have always felt it was more correct though I mess up now and then.
