I know its wrong, but I say M K 3.
I also say third gen supra
And I also call it oldshcool supra.

As for the hatred toward MK4 owners, some of its well deserved. Of coarse 90% of it comes form the key board warriors on the internet. Most people are much cooler in person. But the truth is that the snobish attitudes and the narrow mindedness towards other cars coming from some of these guys is almost childish. Every time one of these dyno-queen MK4's break 700rwhp another kid who owns an MK4 will get a big head. The head swelling has gotten so bad, that many owners have no choice but to ride around with the targa top off.

If you guys had owned a first gen supra then you would think it was a supra...they are called Celica Supra but...hey wait that sayes supra...I rest my case.

As a owner of a first gen or MKII or Mark 2 and a MKIII or Mark 3 I consider the MK2 just as much of supra as any other supra.

And it is. !!!1111

In Japan, The Mark 2 Supra was called the Celica XX.
When they brought production of the Mark 1 to The U.S. in 1978(MKI 79-81),
They split the name and called it the Celica(XX) and Supra(new name).
Same goes with the MKII. :)
They couldn't just refer to it as a Celica because that was already in production...Therefore naming it the Celica Supra. After the popularity of these cars was apex, In 1986, they officialized them as the NEW TOYOTA SUPRA. MKI & MKII are still Supras without a doubt...so don't let anyone say that. But by technical terms, They are Celica-Supras.

:biglaugh:

FYI: Some of the above might be off a little, but you get my point. :icon_surp

Becuase the introduction is in Jan of 86, not fall of 85. That makes it a half, not its lineage from the Celica Supra. Smart man.

Toyota has done that MANY times on other vehicles, and the only time they ever used a half-year designation was for the Supra, because there was already an 86 Supra, the MK2.

Also, the 1997 Supra was the 15th Anniversary Edition.

Wanna know what's funny? I can argue your side of the issue as well, probably just as well. But that's not really the issue at hand ;).
