I was thinking that Toyota had a car called the "Mark II" other then the MKII supra if that is the case I would expect calling them Mark would be wrong...I try and stick to saying MK because I have always felt it was more correct though I mess up now and then.

I feel this way a lot! I grew up referring to them as M K...and that's how I feel comfortable saying it...but either depending on who I am with, or if I just feel really random, I'll say both ways in the same friggin' sentence 'cuz I'm cool like that...

I still say "mark" in keeping with typical traditions. For example, the British Spitfire variants were listed "Mk" but pronounced "mark." The Webster online dictionary also lists "Mk" as an abbreviation for "mark", but I think that is more in reference to the book of the Bible.

To each their own...

That is correct. The mark ii was a Corolla and also a Corona. The rest is internet driven, for whatever bizzare reason. I don't even know who Mark is, and he has nothing to do with my car.

Mk is in fact the proper abbreviation for the word "Mark". I get so sick of people calling cars EMM KAY 3's or EMM KAY 4's. The proper way to refer to our generation of Supra is Mark Three. Pronouncing the abbreviation is just silly and is more difficult to say. So Mark 3, A70, MA70, JZA70, third generation, are all okay in my book, just anything but EMM KAY 3.

Mark 3, I hate emm kay 3,4.
I didnt read all 12 pages but it annoys me so bad when people say emm kay. Thats like saying, "thanks for checking my liver Dee-aRe Jones" or "emM-aRe and emM-esS Smith was a good movie". Just stupid!

True...But to the people who have asked me...

They thought a Celica Supra was NOT a SUPRA...It was a, quote, "V6 Celica".

THAT is what bothered me.

Haha there's a MK2 that is at a bunch of car shows around here with an entire Boston theme to it, has the city stitched into the seats and whatnot, but anyway, they put "V6" tags on the fenders... I think Daledoe has a picture of it haha.

Vica Versa to this...

I HATE when people ask, "So that's a Celica Supra?"

Do you hate it when the Dallas Cowboys are called the Dallas Cowboys too? There is nothing wrong with a Celica Supra. It is a great ride. They look good, are light weight, and a 7MGTE bolts in relatively easy. Sounds like a good package to me.
