Yeah I made it from scratch. I know a guy who can machine it for me. I need to get with him and see if he can actually do it. If not I can make one. You know it's not just for the holset. It is a t3 flange.

Hey is that adapter a 45degree bend to the two flanges?

It might be. IDK I just cut it and questimated and it worked.

And turbo87targa I found my holset at a swap meet. You can pretty much find them anywhere.

Depends on your power goals. Personally id go Holset, not for the power, but the ability to upgrade and be rebuilt for half the cost of the mitsubishi T88.

yeah i think im gonna do it, im kinda regreating the t88. but the price was good.... i just dont feel like workin and spending money to just spool then thing, then have to worry about sustaining the power.

-He351cw (Spools faster than the hx35, but makes the same power) flows approx 60.85 lbs/min
-Hx40, flows approx 70.10 lbs/min
-Hx45 (can't find the flow at this time)
-Hx50/52 or 55. flows approx 99.20 lbs/min

I was also thinking of picking up a 6-blade HX-40 and swapping in a smaller a/r than the 18cm housing i.e. http://www.htturbo.com/thnew.htm

In the link above, all the housings are for "H1, HX model Holset turbos"
So they will fit anything Hx?
The housings are available in 16cm 14cm and 12cm housings. Does that convert to a/r? Are there any ways of knowing the spool characteristics of the different housings on a 2.5l engine?

Hx exhaust housings are specific to the family that they come from. For instance, my 12cm hx35 turbine housing doesn't fit on my hx40, and my 18cm turbine housing from the hx40 is too large for the hx35.

To answer your question about spool, the 6 blade 60mm inducer hx40 that I have on my 1jz reaches 11psi by 3700rpm with an 18cm divided housing.
A hx35 with the 12cm housing will most likely be around 3400-3500rpm for the same boost.
Having said that, once holsets spool they really build boost quickly! I have some more testing to do, but from my calculations and datalogs, I expect to see 30psi by around 4600rpm or before.

Back to oil pressure!
I've read that these turbos work best around 55psi? Is this ballpark for all hx and hy 35-40 series turbos?

Would I be safe running oil return at -4 AN feed and a -10 AN drain?

I want to save the bearings and not blow any seals I figured this would be the place to ask.:)

I'm trying to run an HX/HY35 or HX40 on my new 2JZ setup. Biggest problem is the turbine housing.. I'd REALLY like a T4 footprint and a 3" vband outlet.. what's the closest I can get to this w/minimal modification? I'm getting a new full exhaust system including T4 manifold that I'd REALLY like to not modify..

I scanned over the thread but honestly I may have missed some info. I've been googling for hours though.

Thanks for any help.

Try www.bullseyepower.com. They make custom housings and all the DSM guys get theirs from them.
