So if I get this straight, the ports on your main flange are of equal diameter to the engine exhaust ports, right? And you weld the wider runners straight to the flange, so if for instance you can look inside the runner towards the flange you can actually see a step to the motor port? Am I making any sense here?group a supra said:the runners will come of the head in 48mm thats how you get the tq it stops it flowing back into the head and stalling the flow of gases acts like anti blowback system as the gases will always go to the outside wall
I'll definatelly ask him tomorrow, this is too good to just pass like that. (Homer voice) MOOORE TORQUE :yum:group a supra said:So if I get this straight, the ports on your main flange are of equal diameter to the engine exhaust ports, right?that is correct And you weld the wider runners straight to the flange, so if for instance you can look inside the runner towards the flange you can actually see a step to the motor port? I can be very persuassive when it's needed, in a good way I mean of course. I'd pay something extra if it will actually make a difference. I don't know the diameter availability but I think I could go for 45mm. 48mm will cramp everything in there, there's no way the runners would be able to bend in a similar way they are now.group a supra said:lmao let me know what his face looks like when you tell him or just take a photo :biglaugh:
45 sounds good about same size as the ss manifolds what wall diameter though i have gone 2.7mm wall after a lengthy chat with ian that includes the collectors as wellyannis-supras said:I can be very persuassive when it's needed, in a good way I mean of course. IHI-RHC7 said:I think you should just pressure seal the engine bay and mount the 42 on the hood. That way the only way for the exhaust to get out of the bay is through the turbine. You'd get lot'sa low end torque that way...

Ok, I had a good talk with my exhaust guy yesterday and after I told him about the benefits of a larger diameter runner he objected with that aproach and insisted that a smaller runner would certainly benefit the torque band whereas a wider runner would require more air from a bigger motor.group a supra said:lmao let me know what his face looks like when you tell him or just take a photo :biglaugh:
