I store mine standing because it takes up less table/floor space. I wouldn't think a beefy crank could warp from being flat on the ground a few months though.

To be honest, I do end up driving up into the mountains now and then, even in the winter, which means colder temps where this can help. Seems more than a bit ironic to heat up the air that just came through an intercooler to cool it down, though.

make sure you do not over tighten the timing belt tensioner its been found to distort the wall of #1cyl

I recommend that you port, bead blast & coat your exhaust manifold. Better flow (that you'll notice) & the engine bay will be cooler too.

Did some more work today... at this rate I can drop it back in the chassis soon, then all I have to worry about is the wiring!
Hey Grim, where'd you get your machine work done? I'm looking at local places to get a head machined, deck surfaced/dunked, and want to compile places that know wtf they're doing with a 7M and for how much.
A place on Boundary rd called Magnem. They appear to know what they are doing, they were fast and the price was reasonable. I'll go back there again.
