I belive this died.
Have Schnider grind you a new set off your old ones. (They hard weld the lobes, then grind new profiles etc.)

Or bite the bullet and find some used expensive ones.

IIRC, Schnider is like 250.00 with your cams as cores.

I wonder if we could get the lobes hard chromed, then ground? That would be the best setup metal wise as the chrome is much more resistant to wear.

Also your just adding hard material on the lobes only, so your cam stays somewhat flexable, but the "wear" surfaces would be harder than possible if you tried to heat treat the entire cam. (It would be too brittle.)

Yep, Schneider is $100 PER CAM plus shipping to them and back is around $40-50 for 2 day priority. I just sent mine off.

They are making me new shims to spec for DIRT CHEAP, like $150 cheap LOL.

So $360-400 total for new cams to any duration and lift you want and new shims to fit. Not so bad is it?:naughty:

You will have to provide stock specs for your cams ( just STOCK lift/duration) for them to go off of.

It will be another 2 weeks until mine are done, but it will be WELL worth it!

You can get whatever lift you want but you should also mention that you may need (most likely) more head work to accomodate the cams. (If using a big lift)

The maximum lift you can go on our cams and be able to drop them in using stock size shims is an 8.65. Anything over that you will need to do work to the head so cams can turn.

PS: So these are billet cams and not regrinds then?

I will call HPF and see what is up with them as well. Gotta go calling now...

No the schneiders are regrinds. But of course balanced and so fourth.

I am doing an 8mm lift. Nothing much but should be BETTER than stock. I am again NOT going for some dramatic dyno queen. Just getting some better duration to keep the car from completely falling on its face after 5500 rpm. I hate that:icon_evil

Either way the Schneider quality is second to none. Two local guys ran them in their 7m's about 4 years back. Never had one problem. I think honestly if you want regrinds they are the best bang for the buck.

But as Duane mentioned, NEW billet cams would be nice.

Yeah pics and all will be taken. I am building the head with new valves ( 3 angle job ), the new cams 272/8mm lift in/ex. Ferrera valve locks, new oil seals as always and the comp cam #975 vavle springs and stock retainers. Should be a nice set up.

Oh and my own port job. LOL. Nothing too big, I still want quick spool so going with large ports would undermine my whole reason.

I would of gone billet, but since they have not had any word out, I could not wait. And Schneider just has an awsome reputation.

Duane, arent you still on stock cams/valve springs???:icon_conf

I have a LOT of new stuff going in my car this year. Too much to list. I do however have a custom cup holder (light weight) a few extra stickers (adds hp;)) and some a few extra scratches LOL

Not telling :naughty:

I come from a land down under
Another option (but expensive) Is to go Hard face welded cams ground to your own specs that will keep you in the stock thickness range for shims and use shimless buckets!

I really hope HPF comes through with the new billet cams though as contrary to popular belief a good pair of cams does wonders for a 7M! :)

So do you have the stock specs of the cams....Can they measure the specs before regrinding?

Sound like i may just go with Schnieder cams.

Who do i need to talk to? LMK as i am very intrested in getting a set reground.

I wish the billet ones were out! But i need to get the ball rolling and get my car back on the road.
