We got some rich people on here:icon_surp

Put me in for a stage 1 set ( or whatever is the MAX duration and lift I can run on the stock valvetrain, in congruence to the Comp cams valve springs I will be running ).

I'm going to be very interested in seeing how much of a difference this makes on the 7M.

Best demo would be a mild/wild built 7M with a medium sized turbo, at least 550's and other mods to support some power, and 3" exhaust etc.

Dyno the car as is, then swap out the cams and dyno it again. (NO other changes unless it starts to run lean or something.)

That would be representative of 99% of us out here, and really give us an idea of the power increase, and where the curve increases the most.

I think the best bet for a test mule would be a lex/550 car on a CT upgrade. That would represent the potential MK3 market the best, I think.
If we saw proven gains on a car with moderate modding like that, it could help lay to rest the BS about cams not freeing up any power.

Without a dedicated MK3 owner on staff @ HPF, my decision to purchase cams from them has changed, I'd no longer be interested. They can't even bother to come on our forum...

Its not like they fired him, he had to leave..
Now despite the great service they've given us, you'd no longer do business with them, just because they had to let our favorite employee go for the sake of his family?
I think that's a pretty crappy attitude to have towards a company that was still doing good for the MK3 world BEFORE Jeff worked for them.

I hope they make these cams, but if more people share the same attitude and would hold it against HPF for having to let him go, they really don't have much calling to work with the MK3 community at all, let alone bend over backwards to get custom parts made.
I'm personally going to continue buying stuff from HPF, and enjoy their great customer service.

IMO, Joe and Jeff were the reason HPF was doing things for the MKIII. I haven't had a good experience dealing with any of thier other sales reps. I'd be ok if one of them would bother to post over here though, without fear of getting MKIII coodies or something.

Adam, WTF do MKII's have to do with this? :p

heh. i fixed it... ;)

i do agree that joe + jeff certainly helped our "cause"....but the fact still remains that HPF still did stuff for us. they could have easily told joe/jeff to go screw....i think they certainly deserve a chance to prove themselves.

Ok, so let's put this out there again.

Start with stock cams, on a mildly built 7M. (Can be stock, if in good running order.)
Turbo needs to be at least a upgraded CT, or something in the 60-1 range would be a good idea. (Most of us are near this point anyway)

Stock springs, buckets/shims.

Before and after cams are swapped dyno runs, same AF, boost etc. (Or at least no physical changes to any of the settings, if the boost goes up, or down as a result of the cams, I'd like to see it.

Then lay the two dyno runs over each other so we can see where power is lost or gained.

Just a thought.

Sorry for the delay in response. This topic has been a hot one and I will try to address all questions. I was the one that originally set up the manufacturing of the cams. We are in the process of securing a good facility without sacrificing quality. We are looking at the option of purchasing all exhaust cams as this will require only 1 casting and have the distributor gear machined off. This will increase productivity as well as keep the cost to a minimum. Another speed bump is finding the best profiles and all tech/product information as possible. Testing will be a big part of product development as we want to make sure the results are worth the labor. We want to offer as many options as possible as well as any custom order. I will have more information in the next couple of weeks so hold tight as I know we all want this to happen. If you have any questions just ask and I will try to answer all.
