maybe i didn't have over heating problems cause my car wasn't a DD and wasn't driven everyday all day?

One thing to look at is the T Stat, I recently had 2 duds in my project car, one genuine and one aftermarket, caused me all kinds of headaches sorting it out..

I don't think it would be the t stat seeing that it was running fine till he took off the mechanical fan

Lol I didn't do it on purpose. Unfortunately my old clutch fan came off the pully when I was driving detroyed my brand new shroud/fan blade/ radiator
So I had to temp fix it with what was available.
