That is the way to do it!
Use the old fuel pump wire to turn your relay on and off.
Run a new inline fused wire through your relay to the A1000 of course my battery is in the back of the car so this is practical.

Also note: in order to use the fuel pump power wire to drive the relay you must do the 12vdc fuel mod because ~6vdc wont shut the relay properly.

For the people concerned with noise aren't dual or triple MKIV Denso pumps an option? I know a lot of the 2jz guys run this setup when they don't the worrys of poor Walboro reliability and I am pretty sure I have read these pumps are quiet compared to the walboros.

I run the A1000 with -10 an feed and -8an return with a stock fuel rail, oem sumped tank. I sumped the front of the tank so the cops dont see it and painted the pump black. But i do do keep my tank at least half full of gas so i dont have no Fuel issues.

ok, so the a1000 can be run without the controller box? i was thinking of running it off a ballast resistor and then have a relay set to bypass the resistor for full power to the pump that would be activated by a boost activated switch. would that be alright? or do you guys just run full voltage at all times without issue? i dont want to run dual walbros as if 1 fails i wont really know till the car leans out from lack of fuel.

I ran mine without issue. I now run a 2345 Weldon.

The 2 pump thing...ding ding ding...we have a winner! This is why I won't run multiple pumps. The other thing is the fact that it's is a pain to drop tank and pull the in tank pumps out.

Front sump? Dang, I would highly suggest NOT to do that. Not only when you drag race but if you decide to hammer it, you will have to worry if you will ean it out.

My A1000 was through a relay. I will change it now since I run a much more powerful pump. (2345) As I said, when I had the A1000, it worked fine.

Eliminator Fuel Pump, P/N 11104

The ALL NEW Eliminator features more flow and a new black finish. This continuous duty “street warrior” supports more horsepower in a true street car than any other pump built. Designed for high horsepower street/strip applications, EFI or Carbureted, it features our patent-pending “dual chamber” pumping mechanism.

Fuel Injected Engines:
up to 1900 HP - naturally aspirated
up to 1400 HP - forced air induction

Oh he can, not an issue unless drag racing where the fuel WANTS to go to the back. During day to day driving, not too bad an issue.

yes a very bad issue, unless he does his driving in reverse.

I run my A1000 off a relay relocated to the back of the car with the battery box to keep the 12 gauge secondary wires to the pump as short as possible. I have run without a controller or ballast resistor for 4 years without any problem.

You all have your opinions without knowing the facts..... If you read my very first post i said that i keep my tank at least half full, i full my tank every time i drive my car and its my weekend ride. I dont take long trips either. And when i had my sump welded in i had baffles installed to keep the fuel in the front half of the tank.

Yes, I need more pump because I run more power now. ;) I will post a dyno sheet once I head back to dyno on bottle. :) My new pump is a Weldon 2345.

u guys think i should be ok runing a -8 line off my fuel cell to the filter which is connecting to the fuel pump via a -10 and then continue running a -10 feed to the rail which will split into 2 -6 for a dual feed set up to the rail? heh kinda tough to understand but hopefull u will get the picture.
i then plan on running a -6 return...

Those numbers aren't very accurate. Some mustang guys are changing that pump out at 750-800hp and above. Every system differs.
