Looks an awful lot like the car I have here.........just no silver window tint or black wheels. Can't say I'm upset about that in either case. Haven't looked yet at what suspension I have. Not sure if it's on cut springs, or if he ever upgraded, but it is lowered. Gotta check for HID light kit as well. Thanks for the link

Talked to body shop today! Engine bay will be getting done early next week. He's booked up for this week. This gives me more time for prep.

i cant wait to see this project come to life myself! especially seeing as the further along it moves, the closer i get to my car! :icon_bigg i guess im your "sponser" scott, lol! i got to adding it up earlier and it should only take 4 months to get you the 25 and then 2 more months for the rest...as long as everything goes right. bill told me "pay whatever you can and just suck it up and suffer in other areas...youll be ok...your getting a supra!"

I have finally started to purchase a few of the parts for this car. Over the last week, I have bought:

Carbon fiber Boost Gauge (SuperJustin13)

Chrome J-tube already drilled out for my future fuel upgrade. (JDub)

and last but not least.......................................

PTE Lucas 550 Injectors with Clips(Ebay)

I will show pics as soon as these arrive. And hopefully by then, I will be ordering something else. I hope to soon be getting my Lexus AFM and a Sony CD player (from a guy at work). And, I have been talking to JDub about coating several more parts to go along with my nice heat shields and ported Turbo elbow I already have from him.

I have been trying to get the car into the body shop to have the engine bay done. BUT, the guy that I want to do it has been slammed, and unable to take on the project. Now that I have injectors on the way, I want this done as quickly as he can get to it. Once I get the injectors installed, I can go ahead and drop the motor into the nice new bay. Other supporting parts can be added without too much trouble while the motor is in the car.

i was wishing i had the white car today....but i dont think i wouldve made it to work! it was sooooooo purdy out...top off weather all the way! btw, if you dont have this red beast running by the time i move back down (only about 4 months left!), i will definately come and help ya out...gotta learn these darn mkiii somehow!

Two more updates on the car


It was picked up today, and FINALLY taken to the body shop today. He's gonna paint the engine bay, straighten my upper core support panel, paint the cross member, paint windshield cowling, and finally seal my driver's rear quarter glass. That will allow me to finish the rear interior.

And...........I just sent payment for my Lexus AFM!

I still don't have anything to post pictures of yet tho.

so absorbed in my own little world I havent checked in here. I know where you are at and its a long haul from there. The best advice I can offer is allow time for setbacks and dont burn yourself out on it (ask me how I know this, lol).

Sometimes I wish I had a motorhome and a race trailer. I could travel around the country, set up shop, and help different people build/re-build their cars. I tell ya, if I was independently wealthy thats what I would do. What a great life that would be for me. Get to see the country, meet new people, get to work on cars Im not emotionally invested in...I cant think of much better ways to spend my time.

For the record. Per dbsupra90 (gets his PTE directly from them, sells them to us, and includes the authentic warranty from PTE) Genuine PTE injectors aren't 550cc's, they are 580cc's . So if you do indeed have the real deal (you'll probably know when you get them back from being flow tested) you've got 30 more cc's than you originally thought!

Ya, I have been reading the "PTE the new Venom thread" everytime I see an update to it. Some really interesting reading in there. The one that really hasn't been touched on much but has me concerned is that THEY DON'T FIT, and need to be machined! I want to read more about that for sure. I'll definitely be sending them off for the$25 FLOW TESTINGFor those who aren't reading that thread.

A couple fresh pics from right before it left for the paint shop. Hopefully it will be back tomorrow or Friday with a pretty bay so more pics to come soon.

A nice shot that shows it's very straight sides. It also shows the ugly front bumper with stuff hanging from it. Bumper is off the car now, and I'm sure he'll put it all back together after paint.

Side view. A shot of all my grey parts on the back, and my new sunshade installed. The moldings will also be on that rear quarter glass when it comes home. I can't wait to see it's stance with a motor in it. It's already lower than the white car with no motor.

And a teaser shot for James of the white car. It sits under the moon at Cotton Bayou.......Gulf Shores/Orange Beach , AL. I made a quick trip down there tonight after work. Ya that's the Cotton Bayou fishin Pier......the lights in the background. I had 3 other photo spots that I wanted to take on the way home, but they all got screwed up for one reason or another.

It's not going to be a big deal if that turns out to be the case. If they turn out to be real PTE's then they'll fit right into the fuel rail (this is where the fitment issue is. PTE turns down the end of the injector to fit into the supra's fuel rail), if not, then you can take your fuel rail and injectors to a machine shop, along with you stockers for comparison, and have the machist turn them down for you .

*sniff sniff* i cant wait! i was driving my stepdads like 92 nissan sentra home from work today and caught myself making blow off sounds....sad i know...i want boost! havent had any in a while from behind the wheel of a car....except bills right after he got the new exhaust...hehehe....just thought id rub that in a little since you teased me with the pic! lol! couldnt get the money order today cause i got off a tad bit too late...ill try to do it tomorrow when i get off so you can buy even more stuff for the red car!

oh and believe me...as soon as i get my hands on that car...the photo shooting will commense...and the save up for the 2j (decided to go slightly different on that route btw)....bwahaha! bill, krystal, you, jr. (whenever he is in town), and i (at least us) all need to get together and do some video and photos. after i get the white car of course...

Yes, the gauge is matching... I have the probe and the sending unit with it... I just dont want CF gauges, I want black face... If you're really interested, PM me...
