OK........To put the brakes on the brake light conversation.............I'm gonna put the spotlight back on the RED car!

I did a couple little things over the week in the dark after work, but I 'll take credit for it all as being done today. I was able to remove the bumper off the grey car, and the one off the red car, and install the grey one on the red car today.

I also have the door panels now swapped out. I swapped in my door speakers along the way there. I also swapped in the leather panel into the passenger panel taken off, so I still have a complete set of grey leather to sell off.

And, swapping the rear bumper was the final piece of drift sticker off of the car. That's what I got done at night. I got all those drift stickers off the windshield the other night.

Now, all I have left to do with the body and interior revolves around having the rear quarter glass properly installed. It's bolted in place, but needs to be sealed, and moldings installed. Then I can put the hatch interior back together, and put the back seat in. Yes, I said back seat in!

I'm now at the stage of needing help. I have a picture here of how my wiring harness was in the grey car. All wiring from the dash has been removed, but the motor and harness are still in the car. The picture shows it all out in the open, like it was plugged in the car.

The question I have is about the big white plug. It is plugged in on the 90 turbo car WITH Air Bag, but there is no connection for it in the 89Turbo WITHOUT Air Bag. I am assuming that the plug is for the air bag, but I do not know. Can I use the current harness in the 89, and just leave the white plug unplugged? The answer to this question has a lot to do with how soon the 89 is running. The only other thing I need is a motor mount, and to swap out my oil pan.

The oil pan is scarry looking. It has a large dent in it. Maybe the crash was a good thing, because it just may have saved a very good running motor.

Here's the pic. The other two loose plugs are not of concern. The little white plug was not used before, and the little grey plug hooks into the dash. The other 3 grey plugs go to the ECU.

I got the motor pulled this past weekend from the grey car....Finally! Now, I'm waiting on a motor mount from none other than Too Stand himself. But, I've been reading Jake's (ReignMaker) build, and it's inspiring me to try to do something with my engine bay before I drop the motor in. It's just, I don't have any experience at any paint work, and I'd have to borrow a compressor and sprayer to do it. I do believe I could do it, and improve the look of the bay. Any tips would be appreciated.

Scott!!! I sent Jay my priming gun and paint gun with all my guages and filters. We are planning on painting a good bit of his interior when i am there. Since my guns are in Bama as of tomorrow I believe you are more than welcome to borrow them if you would like to paint up whatever you need to. When I am down there next week and we meet I can give you a painting 101 lesson....lol. We should be finished with Jays car by the meet so everyone can see the finished product. You are welcome to take the guns with you back home and just ship them back to me when your done. As far as a compressor goes You can probibly rent one pretty cheep for a weekend or if you want to buy one Harbor Freight is your friend...lol

O Shit..........I guess before I do the bay, I gotta be sure I'm staying 3E5. If I do, I'm gonna always want another grey car. But 3E5 it will be.

Ryan, my brother in law asked me the other day if I would keep his compressor until he needed it. He's walking distance, so that's not a problem. I'm more worried about prep work. I know a paint job is only as good as your prep.

Ken you beet me to it, Adjusters thread rocks!!!

Scott sounds like you got all you need then. I will give you a few pointers next weekend if you want but you should be just fine. If we have some left over paint I will set up one of the guns at jays and show you how to get a good spray pattern and how to clean the gun. After that its cake!!!

I got my motor mount today! Now I got to fight the urge to drop the motor in before doing the engine bay paint. I gotta fix my water leak in the white car this weekend, so that and the cool weather will occupy me this weekend. It's leaking from the top of the lower radiator hose or the water pump. I'm not sure, but it's coming from that general area. Gotta have it fixed for the Birmingham trip next week. 1WEEK!!!!!!!!

Check that little PITA 90 deg hose under the cam sensor too, the one on the bypass tube.
We have a winner!

I worked on the leak situation yesterday. For some reason, I never saw this post, but found the leak there. Got that taken care of..........BUT.........it also seemed to be leaking from the bolt to the thermostat housing that is hidden by the CPS. I couldn't figure a way to get a wrench on that bolt without pulling the CPS, and daylight was escaping quickly. I stopped for the day with one of my two leaks fixed. It appears that my gasket on the thermo housing needs to be replaced. Is that possible without pulling the CPS?

Well after a long time off, I finally have an update for the 3E5!!!!!

I just entered into a contract selling my white car. He's not gonna get the car until he has it paid for. Meanwhile, I will spend every penny he sends me on the Red car. I took a down payment tonight, and I will use it to have the car towed to the body shop to have the engine bay sprayed before the motor install.

Here's my plans for after that:

Upgraded Turbo - 57 trim with a "H3" compressor wheel. Already have this.

550 Injectors
Lexus AFM
Walbro 255
Aeromotive Fuel Pessure Regulator
SAFC II
Larger Intercooler and pipes
1 piece Aluminum driveshaft
BIC DDP with no cats and the Exhaust Depot 3" catback from my grey car

Long term plans will be to get a FFIM and upgraded radiator, but those won't probably be happening for a little while.

I will post pictures as soon as the engine bay is done.

Sounds good Scott. What type of upgraded turbo do you have? Sounds like 400 horses to me. Good luck with the build.............lol

I'm kinda right where you were not long ago Jay. Realistically, I will be happy with 400, but a little more would be welcome. Whatever it comes up to, I'll have to be happy. Once I get all that done, it will all be about making it prettier.
