I'd destroy that.
Panasonic Toughbook FTW.
I think that the aluminum case that it's built out of, would out last most of these plastic laptops out now. And you can get it fully solid state. No florescent bulbs to break, on certain models no hard disk to jack up. to external drives to fail. almost no moving parts. I bet it proves to be a pretty tough little book.
-Also pretty powerful for such a small package.
-1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Merom, with 800 MHz FSB or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4MB of L2 cache
-2GB of PC2-5300 DDR2
-Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory. This chip has 128 programmable shader units amongst other things, and is DX10 compatible for those with boot camp.
The only really slow thing I see is the hard drive.
All this with a 5 hour battery life, not to bad. Sadly the battery is not user replaceable. I can understand this concept with the iPod(but I don't like it), but this is retarded with a notebook.
Worst thing is the price tag, but with apple sky high price no longer surprise me, only cause me to shake my head.
