Finally got a hold of some is coils.

Here are the coils inside the 1zz coil bracket to see what changes I have to make.

Pretty sure I will have to open up the 3 holes and turn them into rectangles so the coils sit further in.

Also the last coil needs to be clock at a slight angle so it doesn't his the throttle linkage stand. And that last stand off will have to be obsolete.

Looks great!

Any idea when we will be able to purchase them? (7M w/IS300 coils here).

Thanks!

Ill post up when I have a finished product when I get the extra time. Not enough hours in the day to finish all the small jobs/projects I have.

That's what I was afraid of, yes the stands will be obsolete. I do have a spare head I will mock these up on

I had to look again (you had me wondering for a minute), but yes it is. That picture is with the car running on the dyno. A couple of the spots in the casting are pretty tight, and to get my coils to sit nicely I had to file down the mounting tab slightly if I recall correctly.

I bought spark plug wires for the is300 coils from 935motorsports, and the fit is pretty shitty. It looks quite messy, it's on my list of things to change - probably just make my own wires.

For a bracket you almost need it to press down onto the coils from the top. You can get away with a clamp holding both of the forward coils, and the #6 coil mounting hole almost matches the threaded hole in the valley plug (the big allen key ones). One of my ideas was to simply drill and tap a hole in a valley plug, and then have a bar to reach the coil mount holes. It doesn't take much to hold them in place. But keep in mind I've got a FFIM, so I'm not sure how my idea would work for people with stock intake manifolds and throttle linkages.

Those are m6 bolts. And those threads are m8, so those washers will need to be helicoiled to m6.

Working on a revision bracket that will use m8 bolts so they will bolt straight in......
