Electrolyt bathing looks really interesting!! Maybe I'll give it a go on a few parts.

Have you got your light kit yet? Wondering about the quality since it's so cheap, so thought I'd let you see how they are before I buy. :)

Yes I have, but I will write the update now where you can read about them ;)

-10 on the oiling system.....A little big dont you think ;)

Maybe a little big, but I plan on driving this beauty hard on the track when it's ready. So I'm upgrading now in one step instead of two steps.
By increasing to -10 I get more amount of oil in for the engine to play with.
So this will give me a bit more of a safety margin.

Looking good, stripping the underside is a lot of work.
It's nice to have the piece of mind that there won't be rust coming through from underneath your fresh project.

Thank you :)
Yes it is and this is the third car I'm doing it to. I also got more rust on this car (not any more) which adds a lot more time.

Nothing much today, just got dirty with the undercarriage again :)

No more paint or rust on the rear swaybar

Just a tiny bit cleaner on the undercarriage

But that's because I put some more time around the sparewheel holder

Today I went and picked up my new parts.
Everything looked great and nothing was damaged.

This was the first time I bought a silencer. I have not needed to do so for my other cars.
The welds look amazing :)

I went with Earl's connectors because I feel that Earl's have quality parts and they are
not as expensive as others.
I thought about using summits own connectors but I have tried those on the KTH Racing car
(kthracing.se) and we were not to happy with those so I decided to open my wallet a little
bit more.

Regarding the lights, let me just start by saying: "you get what you pay for", but don't
get me wrong, the housings still feel strong and the glass is made out of glass.
Considering how much of a beating the lenses gets during driving, this makes it a lot easier
to open up the wallet and drive safely with good lightning.
I tried the small "porn lights" in the headlamps in my room with no other lights on and
it looked good :)
So I would easily recommend these for others to buy.

I noticed some rust appering around the welded areas so I cleaned those off again and put
some real primer on.

Today I felt the need to do something about my fueltank since I will be using it atleast
in the beginning.
It was easy to scrape of the paint with some added heat from a heatgun.

Wow, I've sent far cleaner shells to the junkyard more than once. Props on your dedication, progress is looking good.

Thank you Zach :)
Well I want more of an challenge with this car than I had with my other two :)
But it's not much left till I'm done with the boring process of removing the undercarriage paint, then it's back to doing fun stuff.

Removed all of the undercarriage paint from the half of the spare wheel holder that I removed
before so now it's ready to get it's holes welded.

I removed undercarriage paint and rust from the same area as I did yesterday, but this time
from the right side. These areas have been a mental threshold for me since they are hard
to completely clean out. I bought a set of different wire wheels that attach to a drill.
I have tried almost every version there is, but for some reason I haven't tried the small ones
and these were perfect for the task. I usually go for the ones with twisted wires since these
don't break of as easy as the other one, but the ones in this set holds on very good.

Removed more parts around the drive-shaft tunnel and removed more undercarriage paint.
Is the gearbox bracket supposed to look like mine? The screw in the middle looks a bit off.

Just did some work here and there today.
Managed to separate the rear left or right caliper from it's holder :)
The view underneath the car is looking brighter and brighter ;)

Started with cleaning under and around the car. I had a lot of Porsche parts for our (me and a friend)
Porsche 924 laying around. So I got most of the 924 and supra parts up on the shelfs and out
of the way.
Then I started with the front left wheelhouse, removing suspension parts and so on.
The paint in there looks brand new(!!!).

I want to remove as much as possible from the front subframe before I remove it from the car
so that the time off of the car will be as short as possible.

A lot cleaner

Continued on the same theme as yesterday and sank my teeth into the front right wheelhouse.
I also removed most of the undercarriage paint in there, but underneath all the it looks
good except for in the rear, it looks like an extra plate has been inserted and then MIG welded.
Is it supposed to look like that?

And in the rear of the wheelhouse...but it looks a bit strange to the right in this pic.

A bit closer and it looks like this, is it supposed to look like this?? :S

And further down

Some parts have been removed here too

Put up some more parts on the shelfs and then did some wrenching.
Removing the instrument panel was a bit harder than I thought but I got it out.
The rust on the safety bar is minimal, but I will clean it off and paint it.

Removed the steering rack which needs to be cleaned and painted before it goes back

And also the instrument panel and safety bar

It looks very empty :-/

Can you see a difference between this pic and the one before? A hint: think sound deadening
29924950.jpg

A lot of stuff that needs to go back on the supra and 924

Did just one thing today...but it took some time.
I installed the safety bar and at all the places where it meets the body I removed the
paint and added cooper paste to improve electrical conductivity.

I had to give my Mazda some well deserved working time, it needed a bolt check which
was successful, I found one lose bolt which cured a noise.

In the supra I did some cleaning of the glue and remaining parts from the sound deadening mats.
