You guys piss me off.
I just wasted 15 mins of my life reading this thread. :p

Haha seriously, guys, everyone obviously has different opinions on what 'real drifting' is and how crappy 240's are (apparently).

Lets just let this die, iight guys?

Can't we all just get along?

edit: Yes, this is my first car, and yes, I've tried drifting it a bit, it is a bitch to control, though I have had some pretty smooth ones. Just takes practice, since some arfe talking about the MkIII not being such a great drifting car, oh, btw, its a bone stock manual, and I've done it at 30mph in 2nd just by flooring it. It can be done...

i hope your tring it in parking lots..

mines not bone stock, or a manual, and when im in first or second,(auto) and i lay into it going around a corner in a large parking lot my ass end usualy beats me out of the turn..

although my faveriot thing to do is a 360 w/ a 40-50 foot burn out, out of it...

DONT DO THAT TO A SUPRA! get a beatup 240 for 700 bucks, throw some suspension on it and get it running well and vwala! even i got sideways easy in one... but it didnt help that i was pushing 13psi....:evil2:
edit. but, personally. dont get into drifting, it's what every 16 yearold and their honda civic that has blinged out rims is doing. unless you have the funds/time, its a waste.

Nah...I prefer my Soup :naughty:

And how's it a waste of time? I've been into drifing long before it was trendy to hate it... I'm by no means a pro, and I don't compete *yet* ... but I absolutely love it. Waste of time? I think not

240's are good for drifting, but it would be alot cooler to see some supras out there killin it.one of the most over looked things is having good front tires and maybe good rears if u can afford it.with good tires you have a lot more control.

agreed. i know that would be cool to see some mk3 out there in D1 and what not...i was thinking of doing sometime in the future...i probably still will do it...but i just need to get all my priorities straight before i do anything. so yeah +1 to see mk3 out there, and plus itll give a huge boost to the respect that we'll get driving them...but then all these little kids are going to want one too...nvm.

2 days after the movie came out I was at publix and a 16 year old girl asked me if I was a drifter..
I saw a video of a mk3 from japan on a drift team, it was painted gold and they removed the hatch. I personally dont want to do it, and I dont have an extra supra to beat to death.. I bet the movie pissed off the old drifter guys, I have not seen it but its the best way to get kids to like it! put it in a move with sexy girls..

i like them, they pull the ebrake around turns and call it a drift. they skid around and come to a stop usually. its good fun to see that.

also to me, drifting is not when you step on the gas and get the back end to slid around a turn. thats just swinging the back end around. i do that like everyday pulling into work just for fun and to show off the RWD:evil2: . i think a real drift your car is already sideways adn wheels spinning before the actual turn.

pulling the ebrake is considered drifting...watch the drift bible, but they need to hold it in order for it to be a real drift, theres different ways to induce a "drift" and E-braking is one of them....theres a video somewhere of a white hatchback drifting around everywhere...pretty cool.
