This has to be the silliest shit I have evre read. Drifting is or isn't that, who gives a damn, that's all opinion anyway. Most of the comments are so cracked out that we can't even get started on opinions. The facts are that sliding is no where near as fast as a race line. Simple physics tells us that static friction is much higher then sliding friction. If you can't figure that out then show me one pavement based competion where the fastest guys are sliding. Fact 2 is that you want a front wieght bias. Again physics being that the end with more wieght will have a higher coefficient of static friction(more grip), therefore anchoring the front and allowing the back to swing easier as well as having less inertia making it easier to control its swinging. Again if you haven't figured out that physics has nothing to do with a mind reading hotline yet then why do you think corollas, s-whatevers, vipers, GTOs, i.e. front engined cars make great drifters. Also explains why those goofey truck conversions do so well (they have no wieght over the rear). Anyway the easiest way to make a drifter out any car is to cut as much wieght as possible while maintaining front wieght bias, and reduce body roll as much as possible (lower cg and stiffen everything: shocks, springs, sway bars, and tires).
