Rad. That guy is hella good. I wonder if that is the same guy who did an exibition at D1 one year? Pretty cool, but slower than the high power RWD cars.
I remember one time I was at Buttonwillow raceway and some guy came with a Toyota Camry rental car and was ebraking around the track. He slid better than a few of the drifters in their beat Nissans and AE86s! hahahah

that was rad. as for driftind a mkIII, it's heavy but it can be done. i would sugest a diffrent car for learning, a corolla gt-s/ sr5 or a 240 for the safety of your supra. you don't need crazy power to drift, just a car that handles well. i also suggest not going to a track your first time, a large oppen parking lot is best.

i personaly love drifting, but i'm going to make a different car my drifter. t found na ae86 with no motor. Woot!

have fun and be carfull. :)

You live in Arkansas, so unless you've been out here in CA where alot of competitions happen I wouldn't expect you to have the best opinion. I've been to numerous events. You don't know what you're talking about if you don't think D1 is real drifting.

um... im stationed in arkansas ive lived all over the country, and no I dont think D1 is real drifting i think its simply a show nothing more or less

I think you are operating on a completly different definition of "drifting" than everyone else.

Isn't that the definition of ALL Drifting though?
(it's judged on style and other criteria therefore it's all a show)

Exactly. Compitition drifting is a show. Thats all its ever going to be. There is no "drift racing" because that is an oxymoron!

yes

it's an exhibitionary sport. it's competition yes, but you get what I'm saying.

Most of the drivers in D1 are professional race drivers anyway. JGTC, super taikyu, etc.

I always enjoy watching the D1 events live. They have really good driving skill.

also agreed with boso. i don't know what this drift racing is...

It's not so much drifting and it's not so much racing. It's driving really fast and just BARELY reaching an oversteering situation...but you can barely tell that the car is oversteering. It's not really done with more than one car on the track. More of a time attack thing.

Drift an mk3?

Here's how:

-Put 225 tires on rim designed for 315's. (No sidewalls)
-Inflate to 50psi
-Install some giant sway bars or preload the stock ones
-Have more than 300hp
-Gut interior
-Install 6 puck or equiv clutch
-Ditch the stock suspension springs for something more around 1000 fronts, 550 rears

I will also say that drifting is sometimes faster if done properlly a vid that shows this is an old one also with 2 corrollas and a r32 or 33 skyline. ill try o look on google a bit later for it. any way they were drifting thru the turns to cut down on the times thru them. and yah most will disagree but if done right and you control the slide you never really lose traction all the way and you keep the eng in its powerband you will take most turns faster by drifting.
