So I started the r154 rebuild. Cleaned the iron center plate, replaced the countershaft bearing and input bearing, and cleaning the gears + synchro hubs.

And that shit works very well. Just MAKE SURE you dispose of it properly!

Been cleaning gears. Had a weird one today - alternator died in the '88 Accord. $100 for another reman'd one.

Happened to have my original 7M alternator sitting there - a little research confirmed a suspicion - EXACT SAME BRIDGE, BRUSH HOLDER, AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR!

Needless to say, I gutted the old 7M alternator (gonna get a MR2 100amp one anyway) and fixed the Honda. :D

Didn't take any of the Honda alternator setup. I mean, c'mon - it's a freaking HONDA

I'll try to get more work done tonight on the R154 though. I've got the timing gear coming in for the crankshaft, then I get to degree the stock cams and finally settle this question once and for all -

What the hell is the duration/lift of the stock cams, turbo and NA?

Good man.

Been working on the Honda as of late. Selling the truck, rearranging finances. Still worried to hell about this warrant thing, and seriously hoping it can be taken care of next week.

Flushing the coolant system out now from the Honda. Just changed the oil (Pennzoil's on sale, lol) and rebuilt the alternator out of the old Supra alternator.

I'll hopefully get somewhere with the R154 this weekend ;)

Degreeing the cams. Pretty sure I remember throwing an NA intake camshaft into the engine. Would be nice to have a known turbo cam to compare this against ;)

Intake Camshaft:
SAE (0.006"-0.006") Duration = 278º
Duration (0.050"-0.050") = 160º
Maximum lift on the lobe = 2.875"

Exhaust Camshaft:
SAE (0.006"-0.006") Duration = 279º
Duration (0.050"-0.050") = 156º
Maximum lift on the lobe = 2.965"

No, that's no misprint on the .050" duration of the exhaust camshaft! Has anyone else degreed their exhaust cam to confirm/refute these findings?

LOL, recycling = free money, as far as I am concerned!

The washers won't work - they aren't strong enough. :( I'm going to have to go to 'yota and order them. Or better, just put them in the order when I call up Jeff Watson on Monday, for all my snap rings and such for the R154 ;)

Duplicolor's Ford Semi Gloss Black.

Sucks, though. I'm now at a standstill, until I order my parts from Jeff Watson tomorrow, and get those in. Oh well, guess I could work on school stuff ;)

The paint will most likely find itself removed due to the belt ;)

Of course, I'm seriously considering a set of cams, and the obligatory cam gears now, so it may be a moot point.
