yah ill drive civic, celica, or something crap so i dont have to worry bout accidents or etc......so my nice trans am doesnt rack up the miles. My point is dollar for dollar the third gen platform is cheaper and faster than a 7mgte. Also, i can set my car up for auto-x easily so the whole f-body cant turn is a crock of crap. Another thing, i can go and buy a 4th gen trans am and really scoot for cheap.

Well ya lets see, a v8 and cheaper parts. I hope you can make it faster for the same money. But if you're going to compare the 4th gen. fbody, then use the mk4. This is what we call value. It's something that the domestics can't keep very well. I know i could have got a 93-99TA or mustang for about the same price i paid for my mk3, but i wanted something different. We value our supras because they're rare and really nice if they have been taken care of. My supra is an 87 and i have way more options then my buddies 99TA. Ive been on both sides of the issue, and here i am with a supra. None of the domestics just quite cut it, but again that's my opinion.

Driving a souped up domestic is like watching the same episode of Myth Busters over and over again, sure it's fun at first but it get's old real quick. Imports doesn't do that for me....I used to own a Cougar, but left in the street just to get it towed away for free.

LS1 is a good platform and I like 99 to 02 SS and WS6 cars, but the fact of the matter is, it's easy to make power in a domestic monetarily anyway. You have 5.7 liters and 8 cylinders if you make less than 300whp I'd laugh at you. A LOT!!!!!!

That's all I see with domestic cars! They shove more gas in to get more power and then they laugh in everyones face, where as, we put turbos on our cars and get the power without losing the gas mileage!

Bullshit man.
More HP=More Fuel
Unless you like blowing your engines regularly.

But yes at cruising speeds(no boost) mileage is better.

there's a 4th group..

those that like both and don't care where it's made or what it's powered by, as long as they like it...

I love Camaros and Supras equally, and would love a 2JZ 4th gen Camaro, and an LS1 MKIII...

Alright, First of all does it truely matter if a Domestic OR import is uber tightness?

Seriously.

Both of them have their ups and downs. Iv owned plenty of imports and Domestic's.

There's something to Bitch about every type of Car you get.. Seriously i think when people argue that domestic or import are better then eachother are like children arguing. there's Douche bag owners in BOTH Domestic and Import owners.

Here's my New Project.

Nice '87-'88! (I know the '88 has the spoiler mounted 3rd brake light - don't remember if the '87s did or not!)

I never liked the blacked out taillights though - always thought a light bit of nightshade looked SOO much cleaner on the black Camaros!

Which domestics and which imports? Seems like the original poster here is just as bad.

You think an '81 VW Rabbit Diesel is comparable to an SC430 in anyway? They are both imports.

The reason I even posted this was just because the guy at the shop was getting all up in my face! It just pissed me off that he had nothing good to say about imports in general and that there all to expensive. I'm not saying that I don't like domestic cars cuz I would love to have a Chevy Nova or Camaro!

Perhapse it just gives you a glimpse into his intelligence, when he makes such an stupid blanket statement like that or as Mark Twain said "It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"

I've always liked both. Since I was 16 I've had over twenty-something cars. Most have been domestic. I used to be really be into older Oldsmobiles. I just don't like working on carbs anymore. I have thought about finding a nice 76/77 Cutlass and dropping a newer fuel injected corvette engine in there. Just a dream of mine, a big ass boat with some impressive get up.

I always liked the domestics when I was younger but now I am partial to imports.

Here is my latest import. Last years model though...

FZ6: 45mpg, 95hp at the wheel, 410lbs and the same motor as the R6 except with different cams for more midrange power. It redlines at 14k... :evil2:

I dont see it as a matter of 'us vs them' either. For me, certain cars have soul. A sense that its not JUST a car, its almost a living, breathing entity all to itself.

For example, i love the Mk3 Supe, but the Nissan Skyline is technically better, however, the Skyline is dull - it has no sense of passion, flair, just cold steel. It has no soul.

Different people have different opinions on what car has a soul and what doesnt, thats what makes life interesting - if everyone liked the same things, life would be soooo boring!
